Thud

2021-02-09 13:34:06 UTC

You just have to be more careful than with a 22 cuz they go farther but less weight

2021-02-09 13:34:21 UTC

If you are shooting through any kind of branches you will be fine tho

2021-02-09 13:38:53 UTC

makes sense. I got a cool book from my Grandpa that is like a 100 yrs/o, and it talks about dif calibers for brush hunting. They guy who wrote it spent months testing dif. things, but I thought it was interesting, cause he said that the two best calibers he tested for penetrating through brush and maintaining a good trajectory were 30-30win and 65x55swede. Interesting thing is that the swede had a spitzer bullet, and the 30-30 was a round nose.

I guess it has to do more with bullet weight and speed than anything though

2021-02-09 13:39:38 UTC

cause he found that fast bullet lost their energy far faster than a 30-30 did

2021-02-09 13:40:28 UTC

he also found that really slow bullets didn't do super well, but that was often offsett with a good heavy bullet, like a 45-70

2021-02-09 15:28:40 UTC

Is black nitride suppose to be more resistant to scuffing?

2021-02-09 15:34:42 UTC

more so than what?

2021-02-09 15:35:13 UTC

its entirely relevant, and at the end of the day, every finish will scuff to some degree. :/

2021-02-09 15:38:48 UTC

https://www.spicetac.com/blog/ar15-bcg-finishes/ here, this may help. Depending on the application your looking at, you may also be able to look at things like duracoat, cerakote, etc.

2021-02-09 15:38:59 UTC

Cerakote. If my slide gets a nick it drives me crazy looking at it lol

2021-02-09 15:40:13 UTC

These guys bring up some good points

2021-02-09 15:40:23 UTC

2021-02-09 17:32:41 UTC

The Ruger security has a good cleanly breaking trigger
