It was being developed for the Nintendo64 but never came out partly due to being delayed for the Game Cube and Rare being purchased by Microsoft.

He saw the game while still in development and wanted to turn it into a Star Fox game. The game was extremely rushed as a result and it's incredible it was even finished at all.
While the gameplay and story were pretty flawed, the graphics where enough to still to this day to put the PS4 and XBone to shame.
