Yea. I am not Catholic, so I couldn't speak to that @Scout . But I wanted to knock his trolling Butt down a peg.

2021-01-31 23:30:19 UTC

I'm a Protestant and have my differences/reservations about Roman Catholic doctrine but I agree that that guy is incorrect.

2021-01-31 23:31:46 UTC

Thanks guys

But the way he said it sounded like we were the religion of the devil. We're not, not trying to be mean but from my religion I was taught that we were first christian religion. Because in the Bible Jesus said to Peter from upon this rock you will lead my Church. Indicating that Peter is the first pope. And the pope is the leader of the Catholic Church.

2021-01-31 23:38:56 UTC

@Scout I still don't understand the whole 'Peter is the first Pope' can come from that verse, in the context it sounded more like that the confession that Jesus is Lord he will build the Church, Jesus is the head of the church, but I don't want to get into an argument about that now.

2021-01-31 23:39:15 UTC

Oh okay

2021-01-31 23:53:54 UTC

Yeah the rock that crushed the statue from Daniels vision

2021-01-31 23:56:45 UTC

For anyone that makes a big deal about "Saturday" sabbath read Romans 14

2021-02-01 00:04:22 UTC

Peter was given the keys of Heaven

2021-02-01 00:04:32 UTC

hence why the Vatican has those two keys

2021-02-01 00:05:04 UTC

I'm sure they're not literal keys but rather secrets

2021-02-01 00:05:23 UTC

or two ways to guarantee your way into heaven

2021-02-01 00:08:39 UTC

@Son Dank Chapter and verse?

2021-02-01 00:10:21 UTC

Matthew 16:19

2021-02-01 00:13:47 UTC

What makes you think that it was exclusive to Peter?

2021-02-01 00:14:08 UTC

16:19 keys of the kingdom of heaven. Peter is given the authority to admit entrance into the kingdom through preaching the gospel, an authority that is subsequently granted to all who are called to proclaim the gospel. (Note the contrast with the scribes and Pharisees, who shut the kingdom in people’s faces, neither entering themselves nor allowing others to enter; see 23:13.) In Acts, Peter is the apostle who first preaches the message of the kingdom to the Jews at Pentecost (Acts 2), to the Samaritans (Acts 8), and to the Gentiles (Acts 10). whatever you bind … whatever you loose. Peter also has authority to exercise discipline concerning right and wrong conduct for those in the kingdom, an authority that is not exclusive to Peter but is extended to the church as a whole in Matt. 18:18; cf. John 20:23. Jesus delegates authority to human leaders in the church who are called to govern his church on earth, under his ultimate authority, through the application of his Word.

2021-02-01 00:16:28 UTC

While that portion of the text is Jesus talking to Peter it can also be for the church as a whole.

2021-02-01 00:17:30 UTC
2021-02-01 00:20:45 UTC

ahhhhh okay

2021-02-01 00:20:47 UTC

thank you

2021-02-01 00:26:40 UTC

i know one way to do that 😉 his name is Jesus

2021-02-01 00:30:09 UTC

yessir

2021-02-01 01:12:07 UTC

Is that why everyone says Peter is by the pearly gates?

2021-02-01 01:24:43 UTC

Concerning Judaism and Greater Christianity, how incorrect would it be for me to say the Jews are technically Christian, because they still worship Christ?

2021-02-01 01:39:40 UTC

Oh my gosh, please stop. Jesus Hated the Pharacies because they cared about pointless little rules more than people and doing what was right. Who cares what day the sabbath is? Pick a day. Its not like it matters when you do it as long as you do it. Jeez this is such a technicality.

2021-02-01 01:40:49 UTC

well, they don't believe that he died and rose as a perfect atonement sacrifice so i'd say incorrect

2021-02-01 03:03:34 UTC

Anyone have any ideas

That’s a lot of money on the line

2021-02-01 03:21:30 UTC

Every year I type a similar Essay about my faith to my college for a scholarship..and I follow these steps
1) my interpretation of ( what would be your religion here) and what’s it matter to me. How I feel about it.
2) if I relate to my future, I’d tie it to my career goal/dream life and how (your religious faith. Has helped you)
3) answer the following questions but mostly try and show your love and faith, but don’t just repeat a set Phrase

2021-02-01 03:26:26 UTC

I’ve recently been questioning atheism and wether I am really happy or not. I feel conflicted, as a part of me really wants to accept the lord fully into my life. And yet another part of me is still skeptical, and hellbent on the assumption that no heaven or god even exists.

Is there a way to really get into the faith? Is there certain things I can do to test wether religion is right for me? I’m sorry if the question confuses any of you, I’m just confused at the moment

The best way is to ask god

2021-02-01 03:29:22 UTC

out loud

2021-02-01 03:29:25 UTC

in your own words

2021-02-01 03:29:32 UTC

god loves it when his slaves speak to him directly

2021-02-01 03:29:35 UTC

even if they are angry

2021-02-01 03:29:57 UTC

when you walk towards god, god runs towards you. Sadly men are ungrateful and tend to only lean towards god in times of hardship

2021-02-01 03:30:06 UTC

then when they feel satisfied they go back to being stingy and miserly

2021-02-01 03:31:21 UTC

those who god guides, none can lead astray and those who are lead astray none can guide.

2021-02-01 03:31:31 UTC

but god

2021-02-01 03:35:30 UTC

We are slaves of god?

2021-02-01 03:36:19 UTC

we are all slaves of something are we not
