Once you finally understand your religion and why you do the things you do
U can argue with valid points and the other person either gets really mad or confused or both
i've had that happen, people get mad at me i mean
Logical people are rare in society these days

Dude makes an interesting case for why reincarnation was traditionally seen as a curse/burden within most religious/spiritual traditions, as opposed to the more positive view taken up in the modern era.

To summarize, the quality of life for the average person has improved drastically since the industrial revolution, and reincarnation is thus viewed more as an opportunity rather than a punishment.
I'm here.
So uncanny valley
What kinda predator has given us that visceral reaction
Right. I've seen things that provoke that kind of response in me. Not to such an extreme extent, but I know what it feels like for sure.
As far as a predator? I've never heard that particular theory flown before. I've heard psychological explanations for it.
Well its basically a predator response
If a large predator rolls up and it gives the Same reaction
Alright. *That* I did not know.
nightstalker's (literal human douchebags) used to creep around our place, and it was sometimes weird cause they didn't always look real when you saw their silhouette run across the yard. We had videos of these jerk-offs climbing on our shed roof and it just looked ominous on the white-phosphor night vision. That's the easiest experience I have that I can explain. Kept me up till like 3:00 or 4:00 each night when I was 14. xD
Yeah
Ok, so wait: Just because it provokes the same response as a predator doesn't necessarily mean it's a predator.
right.
just a sensation of vulnerability?
What you're talking about is a deeply ingrained flight response that goes all the way back to when humans were still crustaceans skittering across the ocean floor.
lmao, idk if we were ever crustaceans, but yes, our more primitive ancestors.
Its more then a sense of vulnerability.
Because it evokes fear in everyone past a normal predator response
right.
perhaps a better example would be like encounters with what one may describe as a ghost or demon?
like it resembles a human, but not in the normal way
Which means the fact that it's common among all people means there was something that caused that reaction. Because without a solid reason for the evolution of that trait
Right. And that's exactly what I'm talking about.
What the uncanny provokes, from what I've heard, is because it lacks any sort of...I dunno...hard to explain.
Alright. So imagine your brain is kind of like a computer program. Our most complex programs are built upon simpler programs that hold them up.
right
Its a fear in the reptile part of the brain
