Would prefer a free market where there is no minimum wage

2021-03-13 16:04:05 UTC

I agree

2021-03-13 16:09:01 UTC

It would open up markets for labor, probably take unemployment to almost zero, drive competition, wages, and small businesses would thrive.

2021-03-13 16:11:48 UTC

It's a give and take though, most other countries that do not have a minimum wage, they have very strong labor unions.

2021-03-13 16:12:44 UTC

basically make businesses transition to robots instead of people to save money

2021-03-13 16:13:08 UTC

hence why ive heard people nickname it the 0$ minimum wage

2021-03-13 16:13:32 UTC

cause the second it goes up, instead of getting said 15$ you get laid off

2021-03-13 16:15:45 UTC

Agreed, automation has accelerated in my state where they pushed for 20 minimum wage. Almost every fast food restaurant the past 2.5 years has automated the front line with Kiosks. They have also added 2 and in some cases 3 Drive thru lines. Kiosks replacing 2-4 workers at the front line. Those workers have been eliminated

2021-03-13 16:16:56 UTC

For Fast food, maybe we will see touch screen menu ordering, payment automation, and then food just dropped to your window.

2021-03-13 16:18:27 UTC

and theres the problem with these people pushing for the wage hike, businesses dont have a problem just replacing you with a kiosk being its all about the profit

2021-03-13 16:18:58 UTC

sure it doesnt look that appealing being your business just relys on robots instead of humans

2021-03-13 16:19:07 UTC

What's wrong with the concept of Bob, a Franchisee, wanting to own a Small Business, and making a Profit?

2021-03-13 16:19:53 UTC

well they should have the freedom to do what they want without the government breathing down their neck and limiting what they can do.

2021-03-13 16:21:15 UTC

you want to hire more people to help them out and get things done and manage the business but the minimum wage hike is putting a burden on you being you cant manage paying all your employees

2021-03-13 16:22:08 UTC

so you pull strings, ranging from cutting back hours to just laying off employees and resorting to alternatives to maintain a profit

2021-03-13 16:22:17 UTC

hence automation

2021-03-13 16:24:08 UTC

historically, automation has replaced humans through out inception. The push by People through Government to force wages is only accelerating the move. Whether or not business owners adapt or workers adapt, will ultimate end in their own demise.

2021-03-13 16:24:57 UTC

correct hence why we should keep the current wage

2021-03-13 16:25:15 UTC

Agreed

2021-03-13 16:25:50 UTC

at least appreciate the fact that a business is willing to hire you instead of replacing your job with a machine

2021-03-13 16:27:59 UTC

I know one of the Franchisee's of a McDonalds nearby, normally they would have 14 people on staff during a shift, with Automation, they are down to 4, with 3 on call in case someone get's sick. All to stay alive due to Wage Hikes,

2021-03-13 16:28:03 UTC

They would much rather hire people

2021-03-13 16:29:33 UTC

well if there is one thing i thought of is that trading school could be a hit for mechanics being somebody has maintain the kiosks and other robots in the business

2021-03-13 16:36:34 UTC

they will replace you anyway

2021-03-13 16:36:59 UTC

i cant say i agree with 0 min either

2021-03-13 16:37:13 UTC

because its the same thing as sending your manufacturing to china

2021-03-13 16:37:19 UTC

its a race to the bottom

2021-03-13 16:37:54 UTC

there is always someone willing to do something for cheaper

2021-03-13 16:41:11 UTC

Right hence why 15$ will just speed up the process

2021-03-13 16:44:01 UTC

automation is also inevitable

2021-03-13 16:44:25 UTC

there should probly be a push for trades or something

2021-03-13 16:44:34 UTC

things that cant be automated

2021-03-13 16:44:37 UTC

plumbing

2021-03-13 16:44:39 UTC

etc

2021-03-13 16:59:37 UTC

right hence trading school

2021-03-13 17:27:11 UTC

I disagree, abolishing Min Wage - I wouldn't forsee anyone wanting to work for .01 Cents to 5 Dollars Per hours

2021-03-13 17:28:03 UTC

Any business that advertises those salaries would probably not see anyone coming in and applying

2021-03-13 17:28:42 UTC

The local job markets will correct itself and pay based on an individual and business owners negotiation.

2021-03-13 17:29:25 UTC

Why would I pay someone 15, in Small Shit Hole City in Mississippi, when Cost of Living you can live their at $8 per hour

2021-03-13 17:30:22 UTC

Forcing businesses in Small Shit Hole City Mississippi would not only kill the economy, population, and local job markets but decimate it completely

2021-03-13 17:45:33 UTC

you dont need to forsee anything, there's plenty of ppl around the world that earn in a month less than you do in a day. As much as i hate the gov there is some regulation that is required to stop scumbag from taking advantage of ppl
