at least appreciate the fact that a business is willing to hire you instead of replacing your job with a machine

2021-03-13 16:27:59 UTC

I know one of the Franchisee's of a McDonalds nearby, normally they would have 14 people on staff during a shift, with Automation, they are down to 4, with 3 on call in case someone get's sick. All to stay alive due to Wage Hikes,

2021-03-13 16:28:03 UTC

They would much rather hire people

2021-03-13 16:29:33 UTC

well if there is one thing i thought of is that trading school could be a hit for mechanics being somebody has maintain the kiosks and other robots in the business

2021-03-13 16:36:34 UTC

they will replace you anyway

2021-03-13 16:36:59 UTC

i cant say i agree with 0 min either

2021-03-13 16:37:13 UTC

because its the same thing as sending your manufacturing to china

2021-03-13 16:37:19 UTC

its a race to the bottom

2021-03-13 16:37:54 UTC

there is always someone willing to do something for cheaper

2021-03-13 16:41:11 UTC

Right hence why 15$ will just speed up the process

2021-03-13 16:44:01 UTC

automation is also inevitable

2021-03-13 16:44:25 UTC

there should probly be a push for trades or something

2021-03-13 16:44:34 UTC

things that cant be automated

2021-03-13 16:44:37 UTC

plumbing

2021-03-13 16:44:39 UTC

etc

2021-03-13 16:59:37 UTC

right hence trading school

2021-03-13 17:27:11 UTC

I disagree, abolishing Min Wage - I wouldn't forsee anyone wanting to work for .01 Cents to 5 Dollars Per hours

2021-03-13 17:28:03 UTC

Any business that advertises those salaries would probably not see anyone coming in and applying

2021-03-13 17:28:42 UTC

The local job markets will correct itself and pay based on an individual and business owners negotiation.

2021-03-13 17:29:25 UTC

Why would I pay someone 15, in Small Shit Hole City in Mississippi, when Cost of Living you can live their at $8 per hour

2021-03-13 17:30:22 UTC

Forcing businesses in Small Shit Hole City Mississippi would not only kill the economy, population, and local job markets but decimate it completely

2021-03-13 17:45:33 UTC

you dont need to forsee anything, there's plenty of ppl around the world that earn in a month less than you do in a day. As much as i hate the gov there is some regulation that is required to stop scumbag from taking advantage of ppl

2021-03-13 18:09:01 UTC

huh?

2021-03-13 18:09:50 UTC

the problem with raising minimum wage is that everything else also goes up and the new minimum wage is still shit

2021-03-13 18:10:46 UTC

the problem with that is that they often forget about raising everyone else's wages to offset that, so it's not a wage increase for minimum wage so much as it is a wage decrease for the middle class

2021-03-13 18:11:58 UTC

if I make 80k a year before the minimum wage increase, and still make 80k after the minimum wage increase, and everything else increases in cost, then the power of my money went down

2021-03-13 18:19:20 UTC

I own a small business and currently have 4 employees that make between 10-25k a year. How am I a scumbag? The local government entity where I am at, is increasing Min Wage to 15 dollars an hour July 1st. I am going to lay off 2 people in order to stay a float.

2021-03-13 18:20:09 UTC

if I kept those people on, I'm out of a Small business. I've estimated if Min increases any higher, i'll be down to 1 employee and will probably consider closing

2021-03-13 18:20:19 UTC

I quit hiring people as employees here. I only hire independent contractors.

2021-03-13 18:20:31 UTC

Due to mandatory hours, time off, health care, etc...

2021-03-13 18:20:42 UTC

Too expensive to have "employees "

2021-03-13 18:20:54 UTC

I think in another year, small businesses are going to go back to hiring illegals and telling Americans to piss off

2021-03-13 18:21:07 UTC

Can't blame em

2021-03-13 18:21:43 UTC

People who can't even get a fast food order right want 15$ an hour (living wage?) Even tho those jobs were never ment to be a career or support a family

2021-03-13 18:22:24 UTC

I always thought fast food, pumping gas, digging ditches, etc... was for teenagers and like under 20s who need job experience.

2021-03-13 18:22:37 UTC

Not a mother of 2

2021-03-13 18:23:26 UTC

I worked Manual labor in My teens 15-19 for 5-6 bucks an hour. Now my nieces and nephews in that same age range, can't find a damn job.

2021-03-13 18:33:40 UTC

Cause adults have those jobs now. They never left when they were teens.

2021-03-13 18:34:09 UTC

Fucking idiots work at McDonald's for 17 years and wonder why they're broke
