are most schools really pushing so much propaganda? I thought it was just edge cases more than anything

2021-02-17 08:26:14 UTC

oh

2021-02-17 08:26:25 UTC

That's what I'm trying to improve on. Building maturity so I'll be able to listen and critically think instead of shutting down like my liberal counterparts

2021-02-17 08:26:45 UTC

Yeah, my school is pushing equity training rn

2021-02-17 08:26:50 UTC

I just like to keep in mind that everyone wants the world to be a better place

2021-02-17 08:27:10 UTC

You do you... that is all

2021-02-17 08:27:16 UTC

eww. I went to school in a super republican area so I guess that leaves me a complete outsider

2021-02-17 08:27:17 UTC

same, a UNESCO gender equality thing was started in my school, but they talked about male problems too 😄

2021-02-17 08:27:26 UTC

Being on the right is the new counter culture after all

2021-02-17 08:27:41 UTC

I can be a very sentimental person and that's why I find it difficult to get over my emotions in favor of using logic

2021-02-17 08:28:11 UTC

It's all for the sake of persuasion

2021-02-17 08:28:27 UTC

My dad taught me that he'd rather persuade than assert his position

2021-02-17 08:28:33 UTC

You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make it drink

2021-02-17 08:28:46 UTC

spot on! sage

2021-02-17 08:29:24 UTC

These people will only listen if they are open to changing, which they are not

2021-02-17 08:29:46 UTC

no @❄֍Winter Soul֍❄ seems to be changing for the good

2021-02-17 08:29:49 UTC

I wouldn't say that's always accurate, since progressive lefties ended up that way somehow, and you can always shift them given the right circumstances

2021-02-17 08:29:51 UTC

he is a nice man

2021-02-17 08:30:12 UTC

Judging by how she isn't cracking the madhouse, I disagree

2021-02-17 08:30:30 UTC

The more moderates or semi moderate liberals you can persuade to your side or at least make them critically think and flesh out their ideas, the better. But they know very well that if there is a "true believer" or someone unwilling to listen that they are not worth their time and energy

2021-02-17 08:30:34 UTC

***she?*** 😳😳

2021-02-17 08:30:44 UTC

😳 you caught me

2021-02-17 08:30:51 UTC

be my waifu

<:KekFull:802560939500503041>

2021-02-17 08:31:02 UTC

Sure

2021-02-17 08:31:15 UTC

moderate lefties are getting pretty rare as of late, sadly

2021-02-17 08:31:23 UTC

Anyways, mom just came back, so bye

2021-02-17 08:31:26 UTC

have you taken a look at the trending page of Reddit?

2021-02-17 08:31:36 UTC

or even Twitter for that sake

2021-02-17 08:31:57 UTC

I don't use any social media except for Discord<:KEK:795742276549607456>

2021-02-17 08:32:02 UTC

understandable lol

2021-02-17 08:32:13 UTC

both Twitter and Reddit are hellholes

2021-02-17 08:32:44 UTC

Yes, but there are multiple styles available to use. I point out the fault with the current "line," so to speak. It sets up a sales pitch of my view. I never hesitate to answer a question, always a full answer from me

2021-02-17 08:34:07 UTC

Interesting things to be found in here.

2021-02-17 08:36:06 UTC

What I'm currently learning is how to critically think about my own positions. My father is also trying to teach me what he calls "the art of asking questions"
The whole purpose of it is basically having socratic dialogue. Why take a position if you do not understand the very fundamentals of why you hold that position? I found out that I'm neutral on many positions simply because I simply don't know enough about them and I don't want to become an emotional right wing npc

2021-02-17 08:36:06 UTC

Everyone knows the socratic method is one of the best methods of persuasion, the trick is to be patient enough to use it. That's difficult.

2021-02-17 08:36:27 UTC

Bingo, that's what my dad is trying to teach me

2021-02-17 08:36:59 UTC

It's *hard,* though.

2021-02-17 08:37:13 UTC

Which part, the patient part or the persuasion part?

2021-02-17 08:37:22 UTC

assuming you can get someone who's willing to listen and isn't going to intentionally bias statistics, you can usually bring stats up to prove a point against a leftie when it concerns stuff like crime and economics

2021-02-17 08:38:14 UTC

Stats can be used to fit into any position/narrative you want it to
