India is already developing alternatives to american big tech companies
because most of them are far left
why develop alternatives when you can just make their business model un-sustainable
lets say I hypothetically had a way to basically destroy big tech's ability to profit off of user data
then... they aren't so big anymore
not just that, censoring is an issue too
well
dont need to worry about big tech censoring if they dont have enough money to even operate anymore
You'd have to destroy the data itself, or else they still have terabytes of potential blackmail material.
twitter kept banning right wing, pro-hindu handles
let me just say, the method I have would not involve actually destroying the data
we could all chose to put them out of business, but some people chose not too
but collecting the same data through other means, and consistently undercutting the rates that big tech sells it for
and eventually big tech makes a penny for what used to be a dollar
or less
So basically, you become what you hate.
not at all
the data isnt the threat
its the corporate liberal elites who run the companies
the data is simply the means to censorship and anti-competitive behavior
they can choose where to advertise certain products, but that's far from the pure censorship we see from big tech
If the advertisers don't care for censoring, why did so many of them pull out of running their ads on Tucker Carlson after the left decided he should be canceled?
I think you forgot the part where people value privacy.
Not to mention after this whole thing with Google and FB and others, I'm far more cautious about giving my data to anyone, competitor to Google or not.
thats not censorship
and most of the server farms of these platforms are in china
thats just not wanting to put your brand on that station / attach your brand to those particular views
In an attempt to make them get rid of Tucker due to lack of money coming in through ad revenue, though. That's where it becomes, in my mind, a bit of a censorship issue.
depends what we are talking about but facebook, google, microsoft are all mostly US/EU based datacenters
sure, but what are you going to do? say that they HAVE to put their money into tucker carlson?
No, however it does kinda go against the idea that the companies don't care for censorship, only about making money and getting their brand out there.
I had a very intriguing conversation with my parents about this 'censorship' and there were some stark conclusions that I was able to make.
I mean
what are you going to do?
for example Gina Carano... she is in some respects a public figure of disney
Honestly? I don't know. Most of the ideas that I've had would involve compromising principals at one stage or another.
if she says something they dont like
they have every right to fire her
its a public company
we are allowed to upset by that
