is it just another bum rush on the stores because of the self inflicted power mismanagement? Or did shipments legit just stop coming in?

(bum rush being something similar to the toilet paper rush at start of the lockdowns / people buying up way more than they normally would need)

Texas isn’t handling snow very well

So large parts of their supply chain are collapsing

Hard to ship food when you have no electricity to load trucks, pump gas, and the roads are covered in snow anyway

People get crazy

Rerouting shipments around affected areas also isn’t super possible

I trust the truck drivers the least in bad weather. They are the ones doing 20 over everyone else on ice

That's a weird psychological thing truckers should know better about not doing. If you go for a long time at a certain speed (like 60 or 70 mph) and then suddenly need to be consistently averaging around 30 or 40 mph it feels super slow
