Hello all of you. It's been a bit. :)
So I had put in a suggestion hours ago and I have not received any notification whether the suggestions bot has accepted or denied the suggestion I have made. I'm not sure if the staff has taken a look yet or if they're taking it into consideration.
does anyone know who Hans HOrst Manitz is?
Hi happy.
Question: I’m 19, and in college to be a teacher. I’m a dude who wants to help kids learn about American history and good values. However, I feel some guilt about not serving. I could just drop out and serve, but I am committed to getting my degree. Maybe I should serve after I graduate in 2 years? Anyone got advice on this? I don’t want to be considered a lower tier human if I don’t serve and I feel that some people look at it that way. That’s probably silly but it’s how I feel. I’m convinced I’ll serve as a teacher, but should I feel guilt about not taking the military route?
Serving in the military isn’t the way that everyone is meant to go, at least not in the US. Though I have the utmost respect for the people who do serve, it shouldn’t make you feel guilty not to. If you feel like being a teacher is what you’re meant to do, then I’d say do that. If you finish school and still feel the urge to go serve, then you should do that. But don’t be pressured into doing something that you don’t want to
There is no guilt in not serving, considering that most of the population do not.
Comments are still up on this one
