Literally what are they going to do?
look at south america and you can see how electoral politics pushed a whole continent light red
This isn't South America
Voting’s important even in a rigged system.
It’s a way to send a message.
so electoralism can work but not in America because.......?
It's a better use of time outside of America
why
It also gives us important information about political identification across different parts of the country.
Theyre not the seat of empire, they're one of our imperial satellites and more political diversity electorally is tolerated
But if you start to push back against neoliberalism in a meaningful way they get rid of you
Like Idi Amin
Or Thomas Sankara
I guess they weren't elected, South American DemSocs are a better example
you should argue this point in another way
You can actually implement some life-changing reforms and paradigm shifts on the fringes of empire, but even then you're limited by the way you achieved legitimate power and it can and will be used against you
don't you agree that if material conditions deteriorate that leftist policies can be implemented easier
I agree that black nationalism in the US will literally never happen
but don't you care about universal healthcare
it's easy to push the overturn window left on basic social democratic policies and it's happening in real time
I wish marcus garvey got his life task done
he was a great man
honestly him and Malcolm X were good leaders
geopolitics obviously affects what's politically possible as well
I don't want universal healthcare and maternity leave in this context
it's open field in the next couple decades to make America as social democratics as most european countries
A capitalism providing those things is worse than the type we have now to me
so you want conditions to worsen even more so a communist revolution can happen
Not really
I just don't want capitalist social democracy.
The American working class is tied already to the idea that we are somehow beholden to American Empire. Using the wealth that system generates to give them social programs would ultimately entrench American people in a perpetual continuation of neocolonial extraction
I don't want things to be slightly better here at the continued expense of the third world
And social democracy creates incentives I don't like
Does that make sense to you?
it makes sense to me but you are hoping for something that isn't realistic
You have to have revolutionary enthusiasm
Or you just kill yourself
I prefer hoping and trying
