So you can see why I don't think voting is a good use of time right?

2021-02-22 00:01:45 UTC

And you'd agree because I'm correct.

2021-02-22 00:03:47 UTC

What do u think of the Zapatistas

2021-02-22 00:03:54 UTC

If you think one of the candidates is more likely to lead to conditions you find more favourable in the third world or wherever, wouldn't it make sense to vote for this candidate?

2021-02-22 00:03:54 UTC

Don't know don't care

2021-02-22 00:04:09 UTC

But seriously I just don't know enough about them to have any strong opinions.

2021-02-22 00:04:23 UTC

They're fairly good from what I know

2021-02-22 00:04:23 UTC

That candidate doesn't exist.

2021-02-22 00:04:34 UTC

It's a hypothetical

2021-02-22 00:04:36 UTC

The conditions in American politics make it impossible for him to exist.

2021-02-22 00:04:41 UTC

It's a dumb hypothetical.

2021-02-22 00:04:41 UTC

It could happen

2021-02-22 00:04:44 UTC

No it couldn't.

2021-02-22 00:04:50 UTC

Read a fucking book you child.

2021-02-22 00:05:07 UTC

Why not? The candidates are not the same, they are going to respond to things differently and do things differently

2021-02-22 00:05:09 UTC

"bro what if a unicorn could answer your deepest wishes"

2021-02-22 00:05:11 UTC

I don't see what's so crazy about this

2021-02-22 00:05:46 UTC

In the storybook world where an anti-imperialist candidate is running for office where he would actually be able to disrupt imperialism, yeah I'd support voting for him.

2021-02-22 00:05:51 UTC

But that would never happen.

2021-02-22 00:05:55 UTC

I'm not talking about an anti imperialist

2021-02-22 00:06:03 UTC

Why should a first-world country give a shit about the third-world?

2021-02-22 00:06:10 UTC

Exactly

2021-02-22 00:06:17 UTC

In your own low-IQ way you understand

2021-02-22 00:06:25 UTC

Allah has blessed you with some wisdom Elijah!

2021-02-22 00:07:12 UTC

I didn’t read your message, I just noticed the part where you said we ought to be in solidarity with them.

2021-02-22 00:07:20 UTC

I'm talking about a candidate who would simply be more likely to create the conditions necessary for more (in your view) positive change, ie a candidate you think is more likely to cause a progressive movement to form in wherever because of their actions

2021-02-22 00:07:28 UTC

I don't mean you when I say we

2021-02-22 00:07:30 UTC

You're not black

2021-02-22 00:08:13 UTC

I can't conceptualize such a candidate but if for whatever reason he was likely to either actively disrupt imperialist extraction or just be really bad at it, yeah it might be worth voting for him

2021-02-22 00:08:30 UTC

But I'd imagine there's still better uses for that time.

2021-02-22 00:08:38 UTC

I'm only talking about voting

2021-02-22 00:08:51 UTC

Not campaigning or anything else

2021-02-22 00:09:19 UTC

Because most elections are inconsequential and the result is determined by how districts are drawn and votes are tallied rather than a simple majority

2021-02-22 00:11:47 UTC

If someone showed me such a candidate, made a rational argument as to why they were likely to hamper imperialist practices, and I lived in a county or district that was heavily disputed and not gerrymandered as to make my voting pointless, I'd vote for them in a heartbeat and tell everyone I knew to vote for them. @monads

2021-02-22 00:11:54 UTC

But that almost never happens.

2021-02-22 00:12:05 UTC

I cannot think of an example of such an election.

2021-02-22 00:13:02 UTC

Actually rationale is insufficient

2021-02-22 00:13:25 UTC

Inshallah they would have to make an **EMPIRICAL** argument and show me the receipts behind this candidate.

2021-02-22 00:19:43 UTC
