It's not supposed to be a high bar it's a bar of minimal entry really
If you can't do that you won't progress on bench
It doesn't take much to start off with just the bar doing 5x5, even if you spend a week or two just practising form with the bar
>never hit the gym and 35 push-ups without rest is easy

Literally just did it to check
I'm not some fat fuck
"Never hit the gym"
I play a shit ton of basketball so im okay on stamina
The bar for upper body strength grade 1 fitness in the Irish army is 55 in a minute, 35 is a grade 2 anything below is a fail, that's why I pick that stat btw, it's a fairly solid marker of being a lazy sod that you can't do it, but you don't have to be jacked to get it done
For the record I recommend doing both calisthenics and weight training, but too many use having an "athletic build" as an excuse not to hit the gym
Alright
Is it feasible to only lift once or twice a week and still make gainz?
Yes
At the start
Lifting everyday is preferable
U should be doing every muscle group at LEAST once a week
All the lifting guides online are every day but i really can not manage that shit
Cause i have school and extracurricular stuff almost every day
What's the beginners guide then
Lift everyday like a fucking psychopath
When u say a beginners guide do u mean like schedule or workouts specifically
Yeah p. much
Like workouts
Just stick to compound movements
Bench, squat, deadlift etc
Must not forget rows!
Also if u get a pull-up bar at home it makes stuff a lot easier
As far as back and abs are concerned
@edaram do 5x5 you take a rest day between gym sessions
There's also a handy app
Plus tutorial videos and descriptions of each lift on the website
what's the app?
>rest days
ONE HUNDRED SITUPS
ONE HUNDRED PUSHUPS
ONE HUNDRED MILES
EVERY SINGRE DAY
@edaram You can you do two full body workouts a week and make gains but you have to be doing every rep really strict and good tempo. Probably easier if you’ve been lifting for a few years and just don’t have time anymore. Tim Ferriss did it. I know he’s a meme but still
5x5 is good
