There is practically nothing Christian about the Catholic Church and hasn't been from it's very foundation. The Roman Empire found itself on the edge of collapse and anarchy and saw that true Christianity was beginning to have a large influence with the general population. Constantine found a brilliant way to co-opt it for himself. He supposedly had a vision of the cross, painted crosses on his soldiers shields and marched them through a river, claiming they were all now baptized. He then won a great battle and gave the credit to Jesus. That was the start of millennia of cruelty at the hands of an empire that changed it's cloak from civil to ecclesiastical.

message @tjams Hi, Maybe you know this but just in case, I believe I found something a while ago possibly confirming Gods hidden fingerprints in the KJV as being the version he brought about by his hand. In the KJV New Testament the word 'church' occurs exactly 77 times. Also the full name 'Jesus Christ' occurs 12 times in Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the KJV. As you know 7 is a favorite number God uses often meaning perfection, and 12 is also an important number. If there was any more gospels or different translations would give different results than 77 and 12. BTW 'church' occurs in 77 verses in NIV also.

@Kel anon Hello, I agree with you that the KJV is the best, most correct translations of the scriptures. I thing it wise to consider, however, that one time spoke to a prophet through a donkey. I'm sure there are many Christians who became Christians through the gospel presented in other translations. As to the other books that are not part of the accepted cannon of scripture, I have read a number of them and noticed things that did not compare with what is today known as the Bible. Scripture must compare with scripture in order for any of it to be believable.
