I got the argument how can we know that its the mass and not some other strange inexplicable reason that causes the cavendish experiment to behave the way it does? what would you answer to that @Σ5
repeated experement with difrent circumstances can be tested
any proposed alternate explanation for the data can be tested
if its testable
so basically you let the other party propose an alternative explanation and test for it and say what strange ... should cause it? lets test for it
one explanation is magnetic forces
magnetic forces have an inverse cube law instead of inverse square law
and you can text difrent materials than areeffected difrently to magnetic fields
yea
just use non magnetic masses
either a new experement or the already existing data can test there new propoosition
thx for your suggestion
i was told that the lead being used is being effected by a magnetic field to be attracted to each other
lead is diamagnetic tho
if you really learned all this autodidactive your pretty smart i guess
one argument againsed cavendish is that they show one where the balance went crazy
but then you notice they used allot of dielectric materials that can store charge
i see
but they just ignore that for some reason
they look critically at everything that shows they might be wrong and do the opposite for all that might show there right
what you doing for a job?
the one they usualy use is where they have some white sheet beneath it
using wood and the main large masses are bowling balls (dielectric)
i would accept the results more even if they used bowling balls but coated it in graphite to conduct away the charges
i work at home depot

hm
you like ur job?
its ok
i think you can pretty much learn any job u want
the wild movement in the video they showed can be explained by the electrostatic bell effect
you can programm yet?
i do programing yes
ah nice
otherwise id suggested this site
interesting
i mainly use haskell
i didnt learn that one yet
anyway nice talk thx for the info about cavendish
ye
earth is flat
