Didn’t the titanic sink because the Captain kept the boat at a fast speed, and when it hit the iceberg, it flooded 5 or 6 of the compartments? I mean it’s kinda the builders fault for not building higher compartments, but it’s also the Captains fault for not slowing down.

@Metallica thats what the story tells us

2019-11-16 18:38:58 UTC

Ah

2019-11-16 18:39:09 UTC

Did you know there is a conspiracy about it

2019-11-16 18:39:18 UTC

No, I wasn’t aware.

2019-11-16 18:39:23 UTC

Titanic never sank

2019-11-16 18:39:45 UTC

It was the sister ship the britanica that was intentionally sunk

2019-11-16 18:40:13 UTC

Id have to look it up again

2019-11-16 18:40:23 UTC

But its a convincing story

2019-11-16 18:40:39 UTC

Didn’t they find the remains of the titanic 12k feet down? Or was that the Britanica?

2019-11-16 18:40:54 UTC

They repainted the titanic and britanic in the night.

2019-11-16 18:41:16 UTC

Then sunk the britanica for insurance

2019-11-16 18:41:27 UTC

Cuz it was badly flawed

2019-11-16 18:41:37 UTC

Or damaged already

2019-11-16 18:41:58 UTC

So they defrauded the insurance companies

2019-11-16 18:42:10 UTC

Titanic never sunk

2019-11-16 18:42:36 UTC

@Metallica it was more a combination of factors mainly to do with poor visibility the lack of binoculars for the spotters in the crews nest, as well as the ships massive size and subsequent lack of mobility which caused it to collide with the iceberg, and due to technological limitations of the time the multiple sectional bulkheads that make it "unsinkable" where to slow to stop the flash flooding that occured due to the massive hole the iceberg caused in theory they would of worked on a smaller hole that was more likely to occur its just that a hole of that magnitude wasnt planned for

2019-11-16 18:42:55 UTC

Thats the mainstream story

2019-11-16 18:43:15 UTC

What was that one ship that witnessed the sinking? Wasn’t it like the SS California or something?

2019-11-16 18:43:35 UTC

They got radio signals but cut the recordings because it was annoying

2019-11-16 18:43:36 UTC

Titanics insurance was over 10 million

2019-11-16 18:43:45 UTC

How much does the boat cost

2019-11-16 18:44:23 UTC

It was insured by many companies

2019-11-16 18:44:23 UTC

**A lot**

2019-11-16 18:44:26 UTC

174 million

2019-11-16 18:45:06 UTC

@Citizen Z not to poke a hole in your theory but attempting to repaint a ship of the titanics size in one night especially with the technology available at the time wouldve meant that it wouldve been a botch job in the best case scenarios, not to mention that the labour theyd have to bring in would be in the astronomical proportions, i get that the government can burn the books a little but theres no way they could conduct an operation like that without it leaking to the public

2019-11-16 18:45:14 UTC

they intentionally killed the richest people on the boat because some of them were against the federal reserve

2019-11-16 18:46:12 UTC

I’d expect the richer passengers to have a higher rate of survival

2019-11-16 18:46:29 UTC

@RadRhys im fairly sure they did

2019-11-16 18:46:52 UTC

@RadRhys because the higher class rooms tend to be closer to the top deck on most passenger ships
