Fair. So an electric freight train?

2019-11-06 07:05:32 UTC

If we assume 60ish ton 120 person csrt there

2019-11-06 07:06:05 UTC

Its about 2100e per 100km with large extra margins ofc

2019-11-06 07:06:23 UTC

(Locomotive and cart combined)

2019-11-06 07:06:42 UTC

That cost includes electricity and rail usage etc

2019-11-06 07:07:11 UTC

And tax :D

2019-11-06 07:08:46 UTC

Direct fra link 404 sadly

2019-11-06 07:09:35 UTC

Damn, google Cost benefit analysis if next generation electric frieght train

2019-11-06 07:09:41 UTC

Fra

2019-11-06 07:10:03 UTC

Pretty recent ish, released 2015

2019-11-06 07:10:34 UTC

Theres a lot more case studies on the death of it post 70s more than anything

2019-11-06 07:12:07 UTC

Yeah im just doing some light groundwork here for local railways nice to compare it to something at least

2019-11-06 07:15:11 UTC

Basecost for electric trainss here is 0.1355e per <total weight(tons)*distance(km)>

2019-11-06 07:18:20 UTC

>>> the basic infrastructure charge shall include minimum infrastructure access services, which shall be:
(a) processing of requests for railway infrastructure capacity;
(b) the right to use the allocated capacity;
(c) use of railway infrastructure, including network junctions and switches;
(d) train control, including signaling, traffic control, transmission and communication as well as train movement information;
(e) use of electricity transmission equipment to provide transport flow;
(f) all other information required for the operation of the service for which capacity has been granted.

2019-11-06 07:19:42 UTC

Is your rail network privatized or a mix?

2019-11-06 07:20:53 UTC

"State owned”

2019-11-06 07:21:19 UTC

Quotes due its quite complex bullshittery

2019-11-06 07:21:49 UTC

But its opening to "privates must get access too"

2019-11-06 07:23:48 UTC

We have pretty much 3 different "state-owned"companies for railway upkeep

2019-11-06 07:24:08 UTC

One for rails and their upkeep and cost

2019-11-06 07:24:34 UTC

One for station upkeep and station notififcations*

2019-11-06 07:25:12 UTC

And one for the trains itself and their upkeep and notifications*

2019-11-06 07:25:50 UTC

*: you can imagine how poorly messages get conveyed due different companies on the notifications

2019-11-06 07:28:33 UTC

But yeah now i know aproximate cost for 120 (or more if locomotive what can hold people is chosen) to travel 100km

2019-11-06 07:29:47 UTC

Given my interest for this is 40ish km piece what has 100km/h rails but is already electrified

2019-11-06 07:30:08 UTC

<:kizunaStare:385945680688054283>

2019-11-06 07:30:18 UTC

But does not have passenger trains since 1997

2019-11-06 07:30:38 UTC

Stations are still there and up to date is

2019-11-06 07:32:18 UTC

Just adding up the costs and few others so i can make more educated arguments and get my own numbers on it

2019-11-06 07:33:32 UTC

University city without passenger train access and shiittty bus connections = only thing keeping them up is harbor pretty much

2019-11-06 07:34:51 UTC

And nobody from current gen wants to really stay there as there is no accees unless you own car

2019-11-06 07:35:32 UTC

Bonus i get to mock city hall people from this again

2019-11-06 07:35:58 UTC

Canadians have been a little more genuinly intrested in these progects looking it up. As a caveat most anglosphere places seem to devote a lot of time and effort to working around and with private corporations, I dont know what to make of it for your system.

2019-11-06 07:42:14 UTC

My plan on this is to argument city halls (i have decent ties with higher ups there) support to reestablish the passenger trains on that 40km/ish rail even if its just 3-4 trains a day

2019-11-06 07:42:51 UTC

That alone wouls bring more interest to stay on that city/area

2019-11-06 07:42:59 UTC

And move to there too

2019-11-06 07:43:49 UTC

Not to mention tourism boost

2019-11-06 07:44:44 UTC

Try to say japanese or whatever students or tourists that there is no passenger trains to university city

2019-11-06 07:46:16 UTC

When/if that harbor ever dies from there.. City will die decently fast dueno connections other than shitty busses

2019-11-06 07:47:24 UTC

No tourist should be submitted to these busses :D

2019-11-06 08:16:33 UTC

You hate people tho.
