One for rails and their upkeep and cost

One for station upkeep and station notififcations*

And one for the trains itself and their upkeep and notifications*

But yeah now i know aproximate cost for 120 (or more if locomotive what can hold people is chosen) to travel 100km

University city without passenger train access and shiittty bus connections = only thing keeping them up is harbor pretty much

Canadians have been a little more genuinly intrested in these progects looking it up. As a caveat most anglosphere places seem to devote a lot of time and effort to working around and with private corporations, I dont know what to make of it for your system.

My plan on this is to argument city halls (i have decent ties with higher ups there) support to reestablish the passenger trains on that 40km/ish rail even if its just 3-4 trains a day

That alone wouls bring more interest to stay on that city/area

And move to there too

Not to mention tourism boost

Try to say japanese or whatever students or tourists that there is no passenger trains to university city

When/if that harbor ever dies from there.. City will die decently fast dueno connections other than shitty busses

No tourist should be submitted to these busses :D
