I think it's very important to make instinction between Catholic Christianity and Christianity as a whole. Roman church is a very hypocritical one, it was last attempt to save Roman Empire. It's aimed at sovereignty over European people. Look at Catholic church now, the pope is pro-gay. Protestantism is more like small government, that's why Christians have to and are waking up to save what's left of Christianity. This faith very powerful, nothing to do with church / pope / media.
