and then shoehorn in something that is underdeveloped
LIke what?
not to mention the number of projects that suck up millions of dollars
that lead nowhere
GIVE US THE FUCKING ACR2
"millions" for a military project isn't a lot at all
I wasn't going to say billions
but whatevs man
Just scroll through the amount of cash that has been boondoggled over the years
And at the end of the day most of the equipment being used can be traced back to the 70s, even if it's been upgraded since then
It's been very curious to look into
I get it, "if it ain't broke" and all
Well the AR is just such a great platform
But on the flipside
I'm in the military I constantly a lot of money being almost thrown a way
Wasn't the M60 supposed to replace the M1919? And that got a bad rap too
Needed several upgrades
Yeah it replaced the BAR
throwback to folding stock days
the m60 was just to unwieldy
But it looked cool in movies <:makes_you_think:382980749780844554>
The corrent equipment is still much better than the original m16
And the 249 shares ammo with the m4
Allows more ammo to carry and Inter-troop armament
FN FAL, I believe the US demanded they change the calibre so it'd accomodate .308
Then after they did that
US didn't use it and went with the M16 anyway
Wasn't the FAL 308 in the first place
I think the one we use is m240
But we don't call it that
240B is the larger model
I think it was supposed to use whatever most EU countries were adopting at the time. Pretty sure it was smaller calibre than the .308 though
This is it
F16 has been in service since.. 1978?
F18 since the early 80s
M1 Abrams around the same time
