roll20 is buggy as fuck and paywalls essential features

2019-06-07 18:14:05 UTC

He breaks the costs down the best

2019-06-07 18:14:54 UTC

the character sheets in roll20 are a total mess

2019-06-07 18:15:03 UTC

Well most are fan made

2019-06-07 18:15:12 UTC

The compendium is mostly srd

2019-06-07 18:15:43 UTC

Downside is you get most of the monster manual with roll20 sub, but have to buy it in FG. Iirc

2019-06-07 18:16:05 UTC

hmm idk about that

2019-06-07 18:16:38 UTC

I could be confusing it. I think he was comparing 5e, not pathfinder however

2019-06-07 18:17:19 UTC

I do all my character shit in herolab

2019-06-07 18:17:49 UTC

Ah

2019-06-07 18:18:07 UTC

I used to just use a form fillable pdf

2019-06-07 18:18:22 UTC

I'm a noob lol

2019-06-07 18:18:28 UTC

herolab makes it easy to be a retard

2019-06-07 18:19:02 UTC

Fair. Tbh you dont get better unless you try the old school way a few times

2019-06-07 18:19:22 UTC

if I was playing an irl game I'd do it on paper

2019-06-07 18:19:23 UTC

Crack the books. Write on a sheet

2019-06-07 18:19:40 UTC

You can do it technologically, it does the same

2019-06-07 18:19:45 UTC

Pdfs all the way

2019-06-07 18:20:03 UTC

I'm meaning avoiding the auto fill sheets ext

2019-06-07 18:20:51 UTC

the bonus of herolab is that it calculates all the bonuses for you, makes life significantly easier when you've got a fuck ton of high level gear lolo

2019-06-07 18:22:01 UTC

True. But in the same token it hinders the learning. But I get the ease it gives

2019-06-07 18:22:25 UTC

I *am* learning tho

2019-06-07 18:23:05 UTC

I could do this stuff on paper now, because I understand how it all works, because herolab explains all the numbers an where they come from when you hover over a figure

2019-06-07 18:24:39 UTC

32 AC (10 + 8 armour + 7 dex + etc etc)

2019-06-07 18:26:04 UTC

before this pathfinder game I had never really played any kind of ttrpg

2019-06-07 18:48:10 UTC

@Dust @Goblin_Slayer_Floki lol I'm the most boomer

2019-06-07 18:48:20 UTC

I have my character as sheets of paper

2019-06-07 18:48:43 UTC

I wish d&d had been more popular here

2019-06-07 18:48:57 UTC

my best friend in childhood would have absolutely loves it

2019-06-07 18:49:13 UTC

and his older sister would have 100% DMd for us

2019-06-07 18:50:48 UTC

strangely we used to play tons of D&D inspired games

2019-06-07 18:52:09 UTC

in fact I'm pretty sure we played Warriors of the Eternal Sun on the megadrive lol

2019-06-07 18:55:02 UTC

2019-06-07 19:13:54 UTC

I wish I wouldve know about dnd as a kid lmao

2019-06-07 19:14:04 UTC

I didn't even know it existed until I was an adult

2019-06-07 19:42:15 UTC

I first ran into it as a 13 year old meeting my bro in laws ranger friends who played 2e.

2019-06-08 00:10:26 UTC

I got into a campaign thad had been going on for like 25 plus years, it was these 2 brothers I knew dad's campaign that he had gmed for and then the older brother started gming the world, never been in a world as fleshed out as that since

2019-06-08 08:02:12 UTC
