I really feel under attack in my own country by a bunch of American hating northerners and westerners. They keep condemning our past, the Confederacy, instead of allowing us to recover from the massive destruction to our property and economy. They want us to live in shame forever. Even the Union post-Civil War recognized the need to honor the fallen Confederate soldiers as BROTHERS instead of simply as enemies.

2019-07-17 16:48:44 UTC

They fly to our cities to deface our monuments and demand that they be torn down, ignoring the context.

2019-07-17 16:49:10 UTC

They scrub our walls clean of our symbols.

2019-07-17 16:50:12 UTC

It has been over a century now.

2019-07-17 16:50:58 UTC

But us rednecks are still the butt of jokes and equations to stupidity and racism.

2019-07-17 16:52:00 UTC

We are largely impoverished and in poor health. Where is OUR social justice?

2019-07-17 17:19:53 UTC

Just stop farming and producing

2019-07-17 17:20:00 UTC

2019-07-17 17:20:08 UTC

2019-07-17 17:21:59 UTC

though its amazing how they bring it up constantly, while not being able to learn from it

Yankeedom and the Left Coast(sprouted from Yankeedom) have been pushing for cultural control for centuries now against the Deep South's cultural influence. Post Revolutionary expansion made the Tidewater society(i.e. the "Great Virginians" of the Founding Fathers) irrelevant with the expansion of Libertarian Scots-Irish through Greater Appalachia, leaving the Deep South to grind against the influence of Yankeedom until the Civil War when the south was laid low and let the newly spawned Left Coast and El Norte rise up to hem them in https://amp.businessinsider.com/images/5a5fe0b9f421493e028b57ba-750-511.jpg

```The founders of Appalachia came from the war-torn borderlands of northern Britain: lowland Scotland, the adjacent Marches of northern England, and the Scots-Irish-controlled north of Ireland. Their ancestors had weathered 800 yeras of nearly constant warfare, ... By the time America was being colonized, the borderlands were in ruins. ... Under such conditions, Borderlanders leanred to rely only on themselves and their extended families to defend home, hearth, and kin against intruders, be they foreign soldiers, Irish guerrilla fighters, or royal tax collectors. Living admist constant upheaval, many Borderlanders embraced a Calvinist religious tradition, Presbyterianism, that held that they were God's chosen people, members of a biblical nation sanctified in blood and watched over by a wrathful Old Testament diety. Suspicious of outside authority of any kind, the Borderlanders valued individual liberty and personal honor above all else, and were happy to take up arms to defend either. ... A century later, many Americans would value their willingness to hold down frontier lands against Native Americans, creating a protective buffer for more docile settlers near the coast.```
These were the guys who told King George to stuff it when he proclaimed no settlement beyond the Appalachian mountain range
2019-07-17 19:40:31 UTC
When they tried to form their own "colony" called Transylvania(mainly Kentucky and some of eastern Tennessee) for Continental Congress and were rejected, they revolted and rewrote Pennsylvania's constitution to give them representation and control over Philadelphia where Congress was meeting
2019-07-17 20:05:39 UTC
wait is this some deep lore alternate history?
2019-07-18 00:56:45 UTC
@Capitรกn Alatriste No, these are the cultural and regional subgroups of the US
2019-07-18 00:57:21 UTC
The Left coast is a bit arbitrarily drawn I'll admit though
2019-07-18 00:57:32 UTC
I made a corrected version at one point
2019-07-18 01:03:10 UTC
You mean IRL? Or a corrected image?
2019-07-18 16:21:06 UTC
@Legiondude Louisiana is more of the Gulf Culture. Finding an actual Cajun is hard as fuck since they live in isolation in small familial communities.
2019-07-18 16:21:59 UTC
Hell none of us understand Cajuns when they speak, it's a local meme.
2019-07-18 16:22:30 UTC
You like to see homos naked? Alright man, you do you
