to which they responded that he'll just have to get legal action involved
But as for a lawyer on retainer? Dude should have had one a while ago
yeah he has a lawer
Lawyers aren't cheap to keep on retainer.
but actually battling it in court is expensive
Even the cheap ones.
so he's not sure what to do
And filing for a trademark is also expensive.
yeah he wanted to file for a global trademark, but he can't afford it
Yea they are. They just get expensive when courts come up. And even then he makes quite a bit
I hope he sets up his own kickstarter
Also the law cares about USE of a trademark more than the exact filing.
it'd be the first one I'd back
Filing just makes it easier for you and may be necessary for certain legal action.
So if you have been using a trademark for a while it's not the end of the world just because you didn't file.
But yeah, what's really activated my almonds is how big of a dick the game company has been
alternatively, tim might just think to say, to hell with it, as traffic going towards the game would also potentially catch word of him
yeah, but the problem is that because it's a porn game, it scares away investors
Tbh he is the only one making a stink. No one else is reporting or cares.
To give an example, let's say someone decides to make a porn game called "Microsoft" featuring a game mechanic about ED and having a micropenis.
does he even *have* investors?
You bet your ass Microsoft can sue them for trademark issues.
Even though Microsoft doesn't do porn games.
I honestly dont think so. If he does he doesnt advertise them
Tim accepts anonymous donations IIRC.
And backer-support style donations.
i get it in a potential sense though. idk, depends really how much they care
Yea and backers
But as for major investors, I don't think so.
But he has been trying to approach some.
And CLEARLY this game has caused issues not just for investors but for interviews.
It interferes with his ability to perform work.
yeah
It is both a brand he has built up over years and a brand they were made aware of BEFORE this project of theirs.
That smells of something, especially with how they treated him last time.
It would activate my almonds so much if the game company were open to actually discuss it instead of forcing it into a court battle. And also they should probably have looked the name up before they actually named their game. It only takes a google search.
Well ttbh since he didnt get we trademark, kinda brought on himself. If not this game then something else far worse could have taken it
International trademark is really bloody expensive tho.
And?
Again, you do not have to register a trademark to have trademark protections. It just makes it easier for you.
