@Amir have you met a JW you cucknuk?
they're annoying, preachy assholes who'll tell you that you will go to hell if you don't convert
@EnderOctanus you can't deny though that "easter worshippers" as they're called, built up all of europe
They also abuse the shit out of the religious exemption from vaccines iirc
@Tero What do you mean
They're probably the ones going to hell then just for being annoying cunts lel
@Amir I **will not** administer first aid or call for help for a JW
you say you have a distrust of all the religious now
@galesteppes I see the importance of religion. In fact right now we're seeing the results of rampant hedonism without moral guidance.
but all of europe and etc. were built by quite religious men
I do
But there's also a problem of dogmatic absolutism.
I believe it would have been developed more quickly if most of the alchemists weren't executed.
isaac newton himself
was an alchemist
Big if true
and very religious
wanna exclude him?
Newton was legendary.
At least the org
I don't care about individual religious people
Copernicus.
I don't like institutions and preachers that build up power
It took until what... recently for the Catholic church to forgive him for being scientifically right?
Basically
Catholic Church has who knows how many holy documents it is keeping from all of Christendom, that they themselves don't even know the extent of it.
Religion becomes too powerful unopposed.
Did the Catholic Church ever apologize for the treatment of Galileo?
Some priests have but only Pope can speak for the church
Took a lot longer to forgive Copernicus though.
Pope John Paul ii is most based Pope.
@galesteppes idk dude. That's complicated AF.
I mean.... when you conceive a child you're doing so under the assumption that it will be healthy and self sustaining eventually.
So.... maybe you can have an abortion on the grounds of breakage of contract?

Mmmmm good ole eugenics
Imagine trying to argue that people with mental illnesses aren't people. Guess what, lots of otherwise normal people have mental illnesses. Which mental illnesses are you ruling out and why? Have you ever met any of these people yourself?
I think there's a duty to the society to let such people have a chance to live to their best ability.
Just as anyone else.
