oh yeah my bad i got caught up in the making society happy part, i didn't especially agree with having to be a major player on the world stage i am happy to be more isolationist
Yeah the whole American Hegemony is kind of a comedy of errors. There's a great book on it *The Accidental Superpower* by Peter Zeihan.
At heart I am pretty isolationist. It's just that, looking at a global system and how much of the world depends on it. And that it's a system we made. You still want to pull out but you realize that doing so is not a simple task. Nature abhors a vacuum.
We fuck it up less than you lot would.
There is frankly no other nation in history that has had to operate forces of this magnitude and scale before, that also haven't destroyed themselves fantastically in doing so, other than America.
Regardless we likely are going to pull out. Without the Cold War there's no national interest for us to maintain the system. *how* we pull out matters I'm thinking about the mess after the colonial era here. Don't want to do that again.....
Oh you guys don't matter lol
Your shipping lanes ensure loyalty
What are you gonna do, raise taxes and rebuild your navy?
Doubtful, good for you if you do though.
@EnderOctanus That's not the problem. The shipping lanes don't really matter to us. The dirty little secret is the Us doesn't profit from them. Imports are only 12% of our GDP and 2/3rds of our imports are N. American. In a lot of other places imports are how they eat.
Who ever implied we profit?
We pay an enormous price to maintain the hegemony, a price that only we will stomach paying.
Are you gonna raise taxes or not?
Because with military expansion comes tension with the US, and you better be fucking sure that you can duke it out before you get complacent in said expansion.
Huh? Who? I'm American M8. Just musing about the instability in that system M8.
Thought you were British
It is stable because nobody else us willing to spend what we do, OR, they admit that America > China.
My point was that if we don't profit over the system we have little motive to maintain it. That doesn't really hurt us but it could make the world a very messy place.
Wat is that worth? Military allies who don't have militaries? Trading partners that don't have much to sell us? I'm not saying it's inevitable I'm just saying it is plausible.
Chinese collusion with the Democrats in 2020
Sway over policy
Apparently Thommy has been getting drinks poured on him and he stood his ground, like what went down?
Someone dumped a Sundae on him and he tuned him up a bit. Vee just did a video on it I was listening to it on the way home from work.
apparently the guy who threw milkshake on tommy assaulted 2 women, idk, that's what I seen on a video Lucy brown posted on twitter.

Hey now I have a great idea lets have the world's most notorious IP thieves build out information infrastructure!
So
Why is it too fluid?
There's no centralized authority to supplant, and records to take over, etc etc
So?
I don’t see the problem
That's a very important part of invasion
There wasn’t one with the Indian tribes
But we still fucked them senseless
Look, we're talking about a hypothetical based in reality, not the old west.
