Alright, so I'm just gonna write some thoughts:
I think using the term 'equality' in any sense in regards to Liberalism is a misnomer, and potentially an intellectual failure point at any point in the future.
When Classical Liberals use the term, they mean 'equality under the law' or 'equal before God'. Obviously, no two things or people are equal in any regard on any plane.
What the person is usually trying to convey is a sense of universal justice and fairness for individuals in multiple categories.
This justice is inherently NOT equal. People reap what they sow. In a sense, we experience 'karma' if you will, in the colloquial meaning of the term.
In short, equality is not a virtue, nor should it be sought as one.
Justice and fair treatment is the higher virtue one should be pursuing.
