Train rides are expensive in Britbongistan as well, I see
it's insane
it's VERY expensive
State railway here is ridiculously expensive. Private competitor is sometimes half price, or lower.
My home town is 35mins out of Waterloo
a return ticket is around Β£35.
50p a minute
That's insane
yup and every year they increase it
Fuck trains. When I have to go to the capital I take a bus when I have time, or a flight when I don't.
If you're lucky, the flight is less expensive.
Do they not have cars in your countries
Cars are useless when you live in the middle of a city.
Cars is cheaper
Like absolutely useless, and the prices here are insane.
You just drive and find a parking spot near by then walk a few blocks to the event
I'm sure the meter is less expensive then these prices for trains you are quoting
Owning a car here isn't less expensive if you don't travel pretty much every day.
what happens if something goes wrong and you need to leave your area? you have no way out.
I guess you could mitigate the cost by car pooling, but still, it's going to be close. Gas prices, weight fees, insurance fees, wear and tear. I did the math, in my case, it won't work.
What do you pay per litre for Petrol?
it's around 1Β£ I guess
you're basically trapped
1.2 - 1.3
seems like it's about the same
you are a high tax country tho?
but it's still cheaper to drive into London
the Trains are insane
Probably the highest taxes in the world, here.
but I haven't checked in a while. You never know in Europe, someone might pass a tax and take the lead.
depending on your location within some countries, it can be worse than here it seems
if wiki is to be trusted
due to local tax rates
The Europhiles talk about Freedom of movement but it's too expensive for me to take a train to the Capital
A city I know very well
