The hadiths are the only documentation about the life of Muhammad. The Quran commands Muslims to use Muhammad's life as a guide to live their own lives.

So with no hadiths, the Quran is incomplete.

I don't know what Tommy was thinking, but if I were to guess, he was just trying to be respectful and hopeful that people like this guy would somehow gain a measure of influence

The Lord Pearson video is also good since he is actually talking with someone directly involved in UK politics and has been for a very long time.

it's been a while since I watched it, so I can't remember his argumentation for discarding the hadiths. I don't recall what kind of reasoning he used, you'd have to look for the specific part
