He's been a teacher for 30 years, and in the last 5, he was having to teach multiple schools a week, in very low income areas. Just general racial death threats.

2018-04-06 06:28:27 UTC

Was he too obsessed about minors? The scale, I mean.

2018-04-06 06:29:04 UTC

He went from being a super lefty hippy, to super jaded and wanting to just move out of the city

2018-04-06 06:29:10 UTC

same

2018-04-06 06:29:39 UTC

hey that doesnt sound like a bad idea. can he afford it?

2018-04-06 06:29:58 UTC

lol yeah, all handbuilt homes in several locations

2018-04-06 06:30:14 UTC

so whats the dip? sounds dope

2018-04-06 06:30:27 UTC

no reason to teach to dummies if they dont wanna be taught

2018-04-06 06:30:50 UTC

but honestly why not report to police? parents of students making death threats?

2018-04-06 06:31:00 UTC

He was that guy that you assumed would be teaching into his 90s

2018-04-06 06:31:11 UTC

He's reported it, but it's the same as in Parkland

2018-04-06 06:31:15 UTC

people dont do what others assume always

2018-04-06 06:31:34 UTC

maybe you should be happy he's safe

2018-04-06 06:31:34 UTC

They brush it off due to having to keep up appearances for funding

2018-04-06 06:32:06 UTC

this next generation is probly gonna be heavily homeschooled

2018-04-06 06:33:07 UTC

I don't think arts and sports take people out of poverty.

2018-04-06 06:33:22 UTC

hey well is his curric exceptional? he could do what jordan p. is doing, teaching on the web

2018-04-06 06:33:40 UTC

arts and sports take an insanely low amount of people out of poverty

2018-04-06 06:34:13 UTC

but unless you play in national leaugues theres no money part of YOUR career, just your college coach

2018-04-06 06:34:47 UTC

I used to think that an appreciation for the arts would help you climb your way out, but now...

2018-04-06 06:35:17 UTC

music teaching is maybe important. how else to gain classical training or whatever? i had bad music teachers and wasnt interested in it til later, then i learned how to make computer music by myself. technical help would have been awesome

2018-04-06 06:35:54 UTC

Nah, it isn't important

2018-04-06 06:36:01 UTC

just because youre not a professional musician doesnt mean your music training isnt benefitting you

2018-04-06 06:36:23 UTC

it cant be important to everyone. its important to have it available

2018-04-06 06:36:32 UTC

I don't see how it can be useful as anything else then a party trick

2018-04-06 06:36:52 UTC

lots of products require music

2018-04-06 06:37:45 UTC

Popular conception: Music and art makes you smarter

Reality: Smart people are drawn to music and art

2018-04-06 06:38:10 UTC

most people don't make that kind of products@M4Gunner

2018-04-06 06:38:26 UTC

In a poor area, it's a matter of priorities. The immediate problem is poverty, not lack of cultural enrichment.

2018-04-06 06:38:29 UTC

most people dont cure cancer

2018-04-06 06:38:52 UTC

music will spring up in those areas naturally. they dont get into commercial s††† as much

2018-04-06 06:39:08 UTC

@DanielKO It's their fucking culture that's making them poor, though

2018-04-06 06:39:25 UTC

Culture is the problem kids.

2018-04-06 06:39:28 UTC

if youre poor its not a good idea to go for a career like that if you wanna be an artist about it. youd be smarter to work in production

2018-04-06 06:39:36 UTC

You don't get an education on how to cure cancer in normal school

2018-04-06 06:39:53 UTC

And the cancer is culture.

2018-04-06 06:39:57 UTC

*not in any school really, but w/e*

2018-04-06 06:39:59 UTC

cancer curing class should be available

2018-04-06 06:40:06 UTC

Remember that ALL cultures are beautiful.

2018-04-06 06:40:10 UTC
