make lots of lists of problems

2018-04-09 06:47:26 UTC

No that's not what i'm saying, just that if the creator goes to a paid subscription model would the patreons stick around? and would they need to pay for the subscription on top of patreon? that sort of thing

2018-04-09 06:48:30 UTC

Also the creator would need to have some form of exclusivity to the new site.

2018-04-09 06:49:08 UTC

If they stay with youtube also, they would need to have a decent upload delay to get people to spring for the subscription

2018-04-09 06:49:22 UTC

yeah thats a lot to work on. you really want the ad revenue so consumers dont have to pay

2018-04-09 06:50:02 UTC

thats why i say make creators pay hosting, because theyre the ones trying to make money

2018-04-09 06:50:28 UTC

charging the consumer 5$ a month is okay, but im not paying 60/yr just to watch milo

2018-04-09 06:51:01 UTC

you would have to really get into the numbers to figure out the optimal pricing for everything .

2018-04-09 06:51:30 UTC

yeah. lots of study

2018-04-09 06:52:21 UTC

what is the end goal of the platform, summarized?

white people let their kids sell lemonade on the most traffic-suffocated roads of this town

2018-04-09 06:53:20 UTC

A way for creators to make money without censorship, and a way for viewers to see the content they want.

2018-04-09 06:53:50 UTC

or something along those lines

2018-04-09 06:53:50 UTC

is an open platform a must, anyone can post video?

2018-04-09 06:54:07 UTC

I dont think so

2018-04-09 06:54:17 UTC

consider not having it open

2018-04-09 06:54:22 UTC

I dont think that would work with something like this

2018-04-09 06:54:53 UTC

call it **DarkTube** or something

2018-04-09 06:54:56 UTC

I'm thinking something like that conservative network, I forgot what it was called

2018-04-09 06:55:07 UTC

crowder is a part of it

2018-04-09 06:55:15 UTC

i dont follow any conservative media 😄

2018-04-09 06:55:26 UTC

but make it even bigger and cheaper

2018-04-09 06:56:08 UTC

CRTV?

2018-04-09 06:56:12 UTC

yeah that

2018-04-09 06:56:34 UTC

yee, not my cuppa tea

2018-04-09 06:56:47 UTC

You would need pretty big numbers though

2018-04-09 06:57:00 UTC

to make and keep the subscription fee low

2018-04-09 06:57:07 UTC

ideally your branding is politically neutral

2018-04-09 06:57:49 UTC

for sure, I'm was just using that as an example of what it be like, but instead of just a few channels it would hundreds or thousands

2018-04-09 06:57:52 UTC

youll already be stigmatized as NaziTube or someth

2018-04-09 06:58:16 UTC

but of course you should start with something small like they have

2018-04-09 06:58:25 UTC

but yeah it would be apolitical

2018-04-09 06:58:31 UTC

and just have a wider potential audience

2018-04-09 06:58:46 UTC

lol, get PewDiePie

2018-04-09 06:58:57 UTC

^killer app?

2018-04-09 06:59:04 UTC

if you start too small then the subscription fee's might be too expensive

2018-04-09 06:59:17 UTC

im sure they are too expensive on CRTV

2018-04-09 07:00:02 UTC

you need to map that out as a target, how many creators, how many subs in the first year, for your business to survive

2018-04-09 07:00:13 UTC

i thought about getting pewdipie but his audience would have to use their parents' credit card lol

2018-04-09 07:00:19 UTC

vs how much capital you can put on it
