I think it's because of the system we live under and they just point at it and say: That is capitalism. They see cornyism
they see corrupt bankers
pretty much they see all the things the libertarians see
sure, thats what i see
But they say that IS capitalism
capitalism is a serious game. people suffer when they lose, they question its fairness
They also keep talking about racism. They paint a picture of society that i don't recognise
MILO says the best thing ever
something like "the system didnt screw you over, your parents did because theyre bad with money"
``They paint a picture of society that i don't recognise``
Yeah thats something i think about. There's this weird disconnect between the situation they pose to you and what you see when you step into the world. Something that sounds plausible, but in like a Ray Bradbury way
But people at risk have a limited perspective, as well as are looking for answers, and gauging their situation are failing to find any elsewhere
yea
theres a lot of different angles you could work tho. you can see i think about this one aspect a lot, what draws people into the hands of those who would make them puppets
if you asked how to stamp out commies in the university staff structure i could focus on just that, or some other angle
Oh. But let's assume I havent seen much of what you mention above @NightOwl , which is the available commie propaganda online, because i suppose i never ran into any
It does bring up a few Qs. Is communism becoming sexy in media?
All I have really seen is these protests
lol
It probably is becoming sexy
well socialism is
Socialism is not a dirty word in Britain like it is in America
most parties in Britain are socialists
and youd think all these celebs, since they like making money so much, would have a good incentive
I voted the other day and more than 50% of parties on my ballot were socialist
i think a lot of us here(USA) dont understand socialism unless they take poli sci, which teaches how awesome it is
but there is a risk that disciplines outside of politics and history could be taught in a socialist or communist way
like if in teaching business, writing, programming, you inject your own ethics
you have to understand people... knowing why capitalism works requires a lot of understanding.... advocating for socialism you just have to be told that the magic man will make things better.
can we dumb down the explanation for capitalism then
sure, i'll do something for you if you do something for me
i'll add i dont think people understand the dangers of *not* having it
nothing gets made without somebody doing something, you commanding to do something for you is socially incongruent
there are many definitions, mises used it in a free market sense which i am also akin to do. That is private property and a market economy
make the other guy real
we each make as much as possible with regards to our means subject to other people's wants and everbody wins
the intellectuals in Britain are starting to ditch the word socialism and just use the term post-capitalism
people dont realize the importance of *abstraction* of the commodity to a universal form (paper money)
they believe we are living in post-capitalism
lol
