If you ever see Plantains in the grocery store, get some
Most people don't know how to prepare them which is why they aren't more popular I think.
You have to let the skin turn almost entirely black and then cook them in a pan with oil on low heat for a good amount of time until they become soft and golden.
it has a very fruity flavor unlike bananas and sort of tastes like a fried doughnut fruit candy thing if done right.
If you go to a Jamaican restaurant you can have them there, it's like a dessert.
