Most black commentators whom have not embraced democrat policies I have seen, from Booker T Washington to Thomas Sowell to Larry Elder to fuckin' Alfonzo Rachel, will frequently say how they find their own personal skin colour to be unimportant to how they think (or vote)

And many on the left will react to this, completely unironically, by denigrating them as race traitors who "aren't helping their own kind"

Meanwhile, *because* black conservatives don't focus on race as much as black leftists do, the leftists have for decades been winning the argument because they have been appealing to emotion/identity in this fashion

And now it's starting to backfire on them

Part of the rhetorical advantage those on the left have had is that anytime a black (or any minority tbh) conservative speaks out against the way they're being treated for their race, they're then ridiculed for being hypocrites
