Myanmar high IQ country confirmed?
@Ruggwain smarter than roaches
@Ruggwain If we started with hex we wouldn't have number like "4GD54". We would just have 16 different math symbols
And we would be used to it
So why would big numbers be harder to display?
The absence of E
Absence of E?
X×10E1
with world IQ dropping and schools using common core, I don't see any improvements in mathematics coming anytime soon
Wouldn't it still work?
No
It doesn't work if x10 doesn't mean adding a zero anymore
So it just happens to work the the number we randomly chose?
In this universe it would be something like X×16E1
But that would fuck over so much
all numbering systems have the ability to scale. it just feels weird because base 10 is so rooted in us
base 16 is better tho
I have to learn different bases for my degree
Well regardless you could always just say 5e10 means 50,000,000,000

lel
That's just a definition
@Deleted User that's how it's called here

>not a joke
I know
the hardest part of a base2 multiplied math like hex or octal is getting used to not being base-10. after that it all seems easy
Not because it's easy to look at and understand
The point is you can have a symbol that dictates the number of 0's
Yee base 2 is a way different beast though
With signed and unsigned
Oof
you forgot about signed negative decimal numbers @Ruggwain
🤔 I suppose yes
Though negative and positive are under the same system
it all just comes back to the complexity of CONVERTING frome base-10 because that's what we all learned. After that (admittedly massive) hump, the numbering becomes simple and intuitive
Fuck university informatics btw
