To be honest having gone through 2 kids. They push breast Feeding/Breast Milk to the extreme already, even if it isn't safe for the child. My wife was on Class B drugs which are safe to take while pregnant but not in breastfeeding, and they still wanted her to breastfeed. Even suggesting stopping the anti-depressant when she had post-Partum with the first kiddo.

@Fulcrum010 is very woke

2018-07-08 20:43:16 UTC

Because breast milk is ideal, and formula is not the same thing

2018-07-08 20:43:19 UTC

Afaik

2018-07-08 20:43:30 UTC

I mean, it's weaker

2018-07-08 20:43:35 UTC

"A 2016 Lancet study found that universal breast-feeding would prevent 800,000 child deaths a year across the globe" - is what they are basing it on? They realize that includes 3rd world?

2018-07-08 20:43:58 UTC

The only difference these days between them is the natural immono-bonuses of breastmilk

2018-07-08 20:44:23 UTC

If anything, nutritionally formula is superior since breast milk is reliant on the mother

2018-07-08 20:44:38 UTC

Yea they did the same with my wife

2018-07-08 20:44:45 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki
Over here, there are women with extra milk who donate to mothers who can't produce enough milk

2018-07-08 20:44:48 UTC

When if she did it threatened the child's development

2018-07-08 20:44:55 UTC

That happens here too

2018-07-08 20:44:56 UTC

Same can be done there with no problems

2018-07-08 20:45:46 UTC

But even then nutritionally it is less than Formula. Because the mother's diet is involved. Again, the only bonus for breastmilk is the immono bonuses.

2018-07-08 20:46:00 UTC

Both my kids are formula kids

2018-07-08 20:46:04 UTC

A

2018-07-08 20:46:05 UTC

and both grow like weds

2018-07-08 20:46:12 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki
Imuno is super important to a kid

2018-07-08 20:46:19 UTC

Like, super important

2018-07-08 20:46:29 UTC

Many formulas include immuno.

2018-07-08 20:46:40 UTC

And the Immuno isn't even guaranteed with Breastmilk

the monther needs the anti-bodies

2018-07-08 20:47:17 UTC

Also. The same people who shame women for not breastfeeding, tend to be anti-vax too

2018-07-08 20:47:30 UTC

Formula are only superior to breasmilk if the mother can't eat properly

2018-07-08 20:47:47 UTC

Formulas have ballenced Nutrition

2018-07-08 20:48:20 UTC

Breastmilk can lack. Hell even the mother may just not produce appropriate, or enough.

2018-07-08 20:48:40 UTC

TBF modern Formula is far from bad, and there shouldn't be any regulation against parents using it

2018-07-08 20:49:02 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki
Lack of milk is not the norm

2018-07-08 20:49:30 UTC

Inability to produce, or produce enough is fairly common

2018-07-08 20:49:40 UTC

"Fairly"

2018-07-08 20:49:50 UTC

Either due to diet, or other medical reasons

2018-07-08 20:50:09 UTC

Add most mothers get on some form of Anti-Depressent for the Post-Partum

2018-07-08 20:50:15 UTC

Pass that through the milk yea?

2018-07-08 20:50:38 UTC

^There is that too

2018-07-08 20:50:53 UTC

@Goblin_Slayer_Floki
That's common in the US?

2018-07-08 20:51:26 UTC

What? Lack of producing, Nipple sensitivity, and Anti-Depressents? They are common in many places.]

2018-07-08 20:51:34 UTC

But yes it is common in the US

2018-07-08 20:51:39 UTC

Jesus

2018-07-08 20:52:14 UTC

There are to many things that get in the middle. Then you also have to remember the child could have allergies.

2018-07-08 20:52:28 UTC

My first born couldn't have Regular or even Soy Formula
