Supply though? Nah, it'll be fine.
Are you saying that noone knows?
And furnishing myself with knowledge about how these imports happen will bring me no closer to an answer?
I'm saying that I don't know the market price of insulin in Europe vs the US, or the import duties on medical supplies
But supply will not be affected
lol. Just you wait. Scandanavia will Balkanise
Right Bossack, but with all due respect, I wasn't asking if you knew. I was asking if anyone here could point me in the direction of somewhere that could teach me the relevent information
What, is Brexit going to make a giant chain appear outside of your ports?
'Balkanise', Aka divide into nation states through conflict like Bosnian-Slovak war
Will there be destroyers preventing shipping traffic from reaching the UK?
we have a eurotunnel
Again, you're making assumptions about my position! All I'm asking for is to be pointed toward a repository of knowledge on the subject.
There was no hostility intended, i'm on a mission to learn
Alright, dude. Make a decision about a nonsense topic, w/e
People saying that leaving the EU will lead to shortages of products are fear mongering. That's not how trade works AT ALL
Of course, I'm not disputing that. I just want to read up on the intricacies of the system myself, without a pro remain/leave bias that seems to be colouring every article i've found
Insulin is a rescource of mortal importance, it would be severely negative if the EU compromise their own citizen's safety and the safety of their allies through political neglegence. Trade deals will be made independantly.
@DecadeUK You won't find that, because the pro/con argument you're asking for is itself a biased position from ignorance.
you're still not hearing me bro, maybe i'm doing a shitty job of explaining myself
No, I get what you're saying
Its like asking "Will Brexit affect the supply of milk?"
It doesn't affect the SUPPLY of anything
i dont see that working, we have the facilities to make our own milk
It affects the *price*
no insulin is manufactured within the uk
except for a tiny factory in wrexham which i think has something more to do with animals
we have cows bro
And? Are there gestapo that will destroy insulin trucks before entering the UK?
i'm just pointing out your analogy isn't fair
if there were gestapo stationed at dover, we'd still be able to have milk
I'm pointing out that your question is biased. It assumes that trade deals affect the supply of products.
I thought my question was pretty neutral? "Where can i learn how brexit will or WILL NOT affect imports of insulin?"
An economics textbook? How about you start there.
thank you for your help
It's not like there's accounting tables breaking this down.
my exasperation was more to do with how biased everything written on the subject seems to be. All I want are cold dry facts.
The facts, are possibilities in future trade agreements.
For all you know, a hard Brexit could lead to a free trade agreement with the US, *lowering* the price of insulin in the UK
Dude, facts on this topic are determined by actions and all this is in future tense. A politician's words do not always allign with their legislation.
