a good yield for a stationary hive is 30-40kg per year

you only get above that by moving the hives to different sites with large amounts of flowers

once move 70 hives 500km into a black locust forest and heavy rain destroyed the flowers 2 days in, the harvest barely covered the fuel costs

ye doesn't seem worthwhile to move them long distance at all

could have been a good profit

but its a gamble, yeah

I dont like moving them like that, too much work without the proper equipment

you move them when most are home in the morning or late evening

and they know how to make their way back to the hive's new spot after they go out

if they dont recognize their surroundings they reset their homing memory
