I worked for the DWP for about 6 months
if anything has made me suicidal in my life, working for the DWP is it
Fuck working in that
That’ll be more hassle than it’s worth being there
seeing all these jobseekers claims for Muhammad Mohammad and his 8 wives and 26 kids, never worked a day in his life getting £35k in benefits plus housing benefit and child benefit
fml
there was a girl that had been claiming benefits that got forced to take the job processing claims that was literally worse doing the job than she was claiming dole - the scheme was literally called "better off in work"
it's fucking ridiculous lol
Dwp?
It’s broken in this country, really is
department for work and pensions
Department for work and pensions
it's the government arm that deals with welfare
doesn't sound sustainable.
Oh we just call it department of welfare in canada
it falls under department of social services here
Welfare really should just be a short term thing allowing people to get back up on their feet, the fact the government has made it so that people can depend on it is horrendous really
So many years of labour, then the tories failing to improve it, universal credit is just pffftt
Ahh safety nets, they all need a maximum weight load. And everyone always ignores it
welfare in the UK is pretty much a career choice
Welfare has no reason to exist. The government merely uses it to incentivise laziness and obedience for "free stuff"
That's fucking ridiculous.
It is a career choice in Canada aswell lmao
That’s the sad bit dust, but there’s no one out there who will change that
I work fucking hard to make reasonable money
Our welfare system would barely feed a homeless person.
and I could make more just not working at all

Lots of benefits <:pepe_smug:560207654207750154>
Be poor be lazy don't work
how much of your income goes towards paying for welfare benefits?
Left wing policies are so irresponsible, really are. Just look at labours recent policy announcement
@MerNihiliste a substantial amount
Mom was on it for a year after divorce she was getting i think 16,000 a year at 1k months rent in govement sub
Let the gouvernement take care of ya
£10 minimum wage, even for under 18 year olds. Look I’m 17, how clearly stupid an idea that is is plain for all to see
It's more of a housing racket then a welfare system
it's like £450/m tax and national insurance lol
True
i'm pretty sure the minimum wage in the UK is belowe £10/hour
