German, Mama = Mom/mum. Mutter = Mother
Spanish Mamá = Mom/mum. Mother = Madre
Mom is equivalent of mother in English so it kinda blurs
Its interchangable
They are used differently depending on the context
Formal use of mom is mother. Mom is the more personal form, while mother more impersonal and formal
the most personal form is mommy
like daddy, dad, father
Mom = mother
Well yeah
I strongly believe mother and mom are linguistically directly related to each other
In Slovak, we have "mama/mami" (personal), matka "formal" and "mater" (formal and archaic)
