not just meditation but a lifestyle
@Slut_maker the goal of meditation is to make your mind still sometimes.
just to get to the point where you can tell your own mind to shut up and it obeys.
you know how you play that one video game and you try to do some new move and you can't?
you just try and fail and try and fail a lot of times and eventually your muscles take over.
that's what you need to do with taking control of your racing thoughts.
except instead of trying to stop thinking, just stop trying to stop thinking
but you have to stop trying to stop thinking for a few minutes in the morning when you wake up,
and a few minutes at night before you go to bed
then you grow those minutes like they is points in yo favorite video game

that means you are moving in the right dimension, the dimension of speed.
the right direction in that dimension is to move toward slowness
and your whole body will rebel against it due to inertia, you're used to flittering around in your thoughts
you're putting on the brakes and your body wants to fly through the windshield
