on the name?
no, more like stuff he/they said and how he/they felt
well I didn't get a whole lot because it seemed like everyone was a little weirded out by how everything is blowing up in the media
they just seemed sad it was becoming such a political issue
and they just wanted it to be about science
oh yea
it would have been so much better if articles gave like a list of contributors, maybe some statements from the most important ones and just talked about the discovery for the remaining part
Hi all
Heya Drew
Hey man how are you ?
I'm good, got a lot of sorting out I'd been meaning to do for ages done, threw out some old stuff
You?
Thoroughly surprised the trashy mods haven't nuked this one yet...
lol
The feminists are trying to support Amber...
Of course they are
I’m okay
Any plans?
Relaxing after exercising every evening this week
After my exercising, just seems like there's more to do xD
When I'm on my exercise bike, at least i can play games
Oh that's right it's the start of US spring break isn't it?
Yeah, I exercised pretty well this week as well. Day of rest here too.
_stirs pot_
Are you cooking something?
erm, wrong link
There we go
lol
There are some people who make sexist comments or whatever, but the majority aren't out to deny she made any contribution, it's the fact this was seized on by the press and given massive amounts of credit eclipsing the rest of the team that people have a problem with, the kind of parading it around as a massive win for women or as a social issue
Yep
I had a friend over last night and had the pic of her next to (I forget her name...) the NASA lady with the books of code. I explained the pic to him, where the NASA lady wrote all that code vs this new scientist that contributed part of an algorithm and had nothing to do with all the data she's posing with... he laughed, "Yep, seems about right for the media these days." and he's not even a MRA/Egal type
Crediting her with all of it is just dumb. Do we credit Neil Armstrong for everything leading up to the step on the moon?
Very true.
