well the 'settlement' is just an agreement to do a thorough study of WHY chocolate has a high lead content

and its possible health effects and potential ways to mitigate the levels

its not a new development, chocolate has ALWAYS been this way

so its not like there are sudden cases of lead poisoning popping up because of excessive chocolate consumption

Yea tbh, it does seem like a fuss being kicked up about what is largely nothing

eating excessive amounts of dark chocolate has more severe health concerns than lead poisoning, so I suppose its always been too secondary to matter

A lot of it is down to countries that grow chocolate still using leaded petrol, from what I gather. However the plant does seem to act like a sponge for the stuff. I think genetic engineering is pretty much the only practical solution, but the day they get round to doing something about it is likely to be decades away.
