Anyone seen this? This bill would prohibit a person who operates a social media internet website located in California, as defined, from removing or manipulating content from that site on the basis of the political affiliation or political viewpoint of that content, except as provided by the social media internet website’s terms and conditions of use. https://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billTextClient.xhtml?bill_id=201920200AB1316

interesting: Unicorn Riot's log of this server only extends to the middle of March for some reason

2019-05-05 22:10:20 UTC

Aka, when nothing happened

2019-05-05 22:10:47 UTC

i wonder if they come in and log everything at once rather than a running tally

2019-05-05 22:10:59 UTC

so that limits the range

2019-05-05 22:11:35 UTC

if that was the case then good opsec would be to put a bot in your server that autodeletes after 24 hours

2019-05-05 22:13:20 UTC

Seems Texas and Florida are also following Cali's lead with stopping social media censorship bills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Wqn9VUI9QE

2019-05-05 22:13:34 UTC

that's good I guess

2019-05-05 22:14:22 UTC

i know it's foolish to hope cheeto blumpf does anything about big tech censorship

2019-05-05 22:14:28 UTC

but it seems like the tide turned this week

2019-05-05 22:14:39 UTC

I'll believe it when I see it

2019-05-05 22:14:44 UTC

Florida and Texas also banned anti-semanticism so

2019-05-05 22:15:10 UTC

removing the protections making them liable for everything posted would effectively kill social media

2019-05-05 22:15:11 UTC

off the top of my head, laws prohibiting social media censorship would run afoul of the interstate commerce clause

2019-05-05 22:15:18 UTC

they would be sued out of existence immediately

2019-05-05 22:15:20 UTC

and good riddance

2019-05-05 22:15:26 UTC

social media ruined women

2019-05-05 22:15:50 UTC

big agree

2019-05-05 22:15:51 UTC

Women were ruined long before that

2019-05-05 22:15:54 UTC

since the companies are based in California and states cannot legislate over businesses that are based elsewhere

2019-05-05 22:16:13 UTC

that's why credit card companies are allowed to charge usurious rates

2019-05-05 22:16:29 UTC

because they're all based in Delaware or South Dakota

2019-05-05 22:16:34 UTC

which don't have anti-usury laws

2019-05-05 22:19:43 UTC

they got some big balls on them, knowing regulations are coming and they keep pushing even harder

2019-05-05 22:19:58 UTC

big balls

2019-05-05 23:03:24 UTC

Dammit, I don't think I said anything funny, or much of anything, during that time.

2019-05-05 23:06:11 UTC

Oh, I had a couple gems in there. Probably gonna get glossed over, oh well.

@everyone I want to stream one of the classic Command and Conquer games. Which one should I do: Tiberian Dawn, Red Alert, or Tiberian Sun? Red Alert 2/Yuri's Revenge are excluded since I can't get this copy to work and I don't want to pay the equivalent of $28 for the Ultimate Collection (which is higher than the U.S price of $20) on Origin just for one game. (If you want an RA2/YR stream, you can donate to my Streamlabs.)
