I think for many its the opportunity for corruption they're not used to. They say everyone has a price. Hooking your buddy up with extra bologna at sub way is one thing, but being able to make a few million by pushing legislation that will never effect you is entirely a game only politicans are familiar with. You might think you're honest, but maybe its only because you're not in a position where your pricetag and corruptible opportunity line up.
