clean install for new mobo

2019-10-11 09:54:48 UTC

every time i build or rebuild a system...i do a clean everything so i know it's running smooth..i keep a list of my preferred apps and plugins on a spare usb stick with the apps ready to install

2019-10-11 09:55:19 UTC

been building pc's for at least 20-30yrs now

2019-10-11 09:56:03 UTC

Im sorry but ive always been able to just log back into steam via my email address when i build a new pc with a new mobo

2019-10-11 09:56:08 UTC

Ive never had that problem

2019-10-11 09:56:45 UTC

I must be missing something here lol

2019-10-11 09:56:47 UTC

anyway..current mobo doesn't allow for internet installs of bios updates so i have to dl it separately and install via usb stick thru dedicated port

2019-10-11 09:56:57 UTC

bleezer, steam hates me

2019-10-11 09:57:04 UTC

Ya it seems so lol

2019-10-11 09:57:40 UTC

anyway...the system of installing bios updates via internet had a serious flaw...it could be hacked

2019-10-11 09:58:08 UTC

Oh bios updates fcked you

2019-10-11 09:58:13 UTC

Yaaaa that can happen

2019-10-11 09:58:47 UTC

so most good mobo makers went back to the tried and true method of dl bios update then install via usb stick

2019-10-11 09:59:06 UTC

while machine was off internet

2019-10-11 09:59:43 UTC

u know something is screwy when ur bios menu has it's own web browser

2019-10-11 10:00:31 UTC

and that was before info leaked about the backdoor into nearly all cpu types came out

2019-10-11 10:01:37 UTC

when u see ur cpu temps spike and according to ur task manager that ur cpu usage is low...u know somebody else is using ur cpu

2019-10-11 10:01:51 UTC

without the os knowing it

2019-10-11 10:02:05 UTC

or ur cooler is dirty and needs cleaning

2019-10-11 10:02:31 UTC

which is my current problem..i need to clean the cooler

2019-10-11 10:03:15 UTC

good cleaning normally clears up that thermal spiking when u know ur pc is mostly safe from stealthy backdoors

2019-10-11 10:03:58 UTC

btw, few months ago my bro tried to network to my pc...tried via router, tried via usb networking...couldn't connect

2019-10-11 10:04:54 UTC

it wasn't the software..nor his hardware...it was my mobo

2019-10-11 10:05:11 UTC

or my os...who knows..

2019-10-11 10:06:03 UTC

i do know i disabled a few features from my win 10 to make it run smoother
