Pot was legal for thousands of years. No problem. Hemp was the problem. The best clothing was made of Hemp. The best paper was made of Hemp. Alcohol was made of Hemp and very easily and great crop production out of hemp. So no no no. No Hell no. Can not have cars running on cheap Hemp Alcohol. So how to get it illegal. Well there is this Mexican Tobacco. Marijuana no one knows of it so rename Hemp Marijuana then we can make it illegal and no one will get it. Standard Oil will profit.

We've had hemp production for probably 10+ years with hemp hearts oil, protein... separate from marijuana... not sure if CBD oil was legal before.

Some are too young to remember the wonderful Hemp Levis and Hemp ropes.

but, yes I've seen it as a competition for cotton and that being the reason given for the co-mingling with marijuana identity.

Hemp now sort of legal. Still hard to get the seeds to plant it. Permission.

Low CBD Hemp. The other thing was Hemp was Snake Oil. It was what was used to cure everything. Snake Oil the new name to make Hemp Oil illegal.

Hemp oil is now legal but it does not have high CBD like it used to have as a cure all. Not that great at curing now. So no Big Pharma concern. Why Pot is still illegal for the most part.

My wife had asthma. I was very against anything illegal and in the service. So she stopped using pot. Within three months she was having serious Asthma problems. Another three months and she was in the Hospital for it. They put her on drugs for it which caused Diabetes which eventually killed her.

So marrying me eventually cost her her life. 41 years. Had she kept using pot it is very unlikely she would have died.

i love eating hemp hearts and chia seeds . grown as a farm crop in Canada, but may be limited for use as cloth and other uses. Funny, bamboo has become the big alternative to cotton and wood.

It does not have the durability Hemp had.
