“Loyalty to others is betrayal to oneself, betraying others is loyalty to yourself.”

2019-10-07 15:46:11 UTC

unless your homies with snakes

2019-10-07 15:46:19 UTC

Hey guys, what if you want a wife and kids but not marriage? What is one to do?

2019-10-07 15:46:36 UTC

...

2019-10-07 15:46:43 UTC

Play harvest moon

2019-10-07 15:47:06 UTC

i would say surrogacy (but it does have some cost to it)

2019-10-07 15:47:40 UTC

but it's still cheaper then a wedding, a ring, years of leaches, and a divorce +child support and maybe alimony

2019-10-07 15:48:23 UTC

Surrogacy takes care of getting kids, but what about a wife?

2019-10-07 15:48:45 UTC

I think the deeper meaning is when

2019-10-07 15:49:04 UTC

you betray your convictions and desires for others which is betraying oneself

2019-10-07 15:49:50 UTC

why do you need a wife?

2019-10-07 15:50:24 UTC

Because nature decided that both a mother and father are needed for raising children in a healthy manner.

2019-10-07 15:50:37 UTC

Hah

2019-10-07 15:50:49 UTC

Society decided differently

2019-10-07 15:51:41 UTC

So you can give your kid to an irresponsible single mother or do your best yourself. "If you want something done right you have to do it yourself."

2019-10-07 15:52:19 UTC

i would disagree and the but i need more coffee before i get into that

2019-10-07 15:52:21 UTC

irresponsible single mother

2019-10-07 15:52:37 UTC

*Spoiler alert*

2019-10-07 15:52:53 UTC

so i will brb

2019-10-07 15:53:00 UTC

Me and a few buddies of mine both experienced childhood with parents divorced, it was 50/50 all of us prefer our dads after being grown

2019-10-07 15:53:00 UTC

oh

2019-10-07 15:53:01 UTC

mb

2019-10-07 15:53:15 UTC

Take that for what you will @poizon

2019-10-07 15:54:29 UTC

Single father wins out over single mother and The benefit of having both parents is debatable

2019-10-07 15:54:43 UTC

It might be good for the man in terms of time management

2019-10-07 15:55:12 UTC

Especially as far as human instinct is concerned, The necessity of both parents is debatable

2019-10-07 15:55:31 UTC

Right

2019-10-07 15:58:15 UTC

anywho, i see fathers as the needed in the household because father are usually the ones to deal with the situation when kids "buck up" on their parents in their teens, the mothers role is crucial at the early stages with things like Brest feeding and making sure the home is clean and safe so the child doesn't eat a crayon and die, now keep in mind that women have essentially liberated themselves out of the parental confines with the invention of formula, daycare, and them entering the workforce

2019-10-07 15:58:34 UTC

most of the women who raise children don't fill the roll that women traditionally had

2019-10-07 16:02:36 UTC

but that's just my thoughts on the issue, i do think single parents can do well if they approach the issue in the right way (fathers working from home, or made enough to fill the roll as provider when the child is young for example) the issue is that i don't think most single parents approach the issue in the right frame of mind, for example single mothers are usually too strict when it comes to discipline or too lax because they try to "be the man of the house" when their child bucks up on them, or they try to act as a friend to talk them down and both have there fair share of issues

2019-10-07 16:02:55 UTC

thank you for coming to my ted talk

2019-10-07 16:03:09 UTC

Haha. I see I see.

2019-10-07 16:03:52 UTC

if you can put yourself in a position where you can take off lets say 7 years off work or work from home you should be able to raise the kid just fine

2019-10-07 16:04:08 UTC

after that they will be in school so you can resume a normal job

2019-10-07 16:04:37 UTC

Did @poizon get his gf pregnant? 😮

2019-10-07 16:04:45 UTC

Haha no no

2019-10-07 16:05:16 UTC

boy o boy i have a fucked up meme for that situation, but i can't post it D,:

2019-10-07 16:06:06 UTC

I ask because I'm essentially a traditionalist in a way, but I don't believe in marriage the way our modern society has it set up so I'm wondering if there's a work around.

2019-10-07 16:06:47 UTC

that's a rough one
