Technically heresy in the eyes of the "church" that could not keep their shit together. The Reformation benefited both you and I, and we both know it
Whoa ho there, lets unpack that before moving on.
Why do you respect the pope?
Why does the pope naturally deserve respect from people?
What has this pope done that should have earned global respect?
He did not endorse either. He is saying that they're not deserving of hatred.
Nope, not even slightly. I receive no benefit from protestantism.
Ahh, because you know the Catholic church totally was going to scrap their selling of salvation, or restriction on Bible access. Have you forgotten that the Reformation pushed the Catholic church to drop a lot of immoral practices?
I respect the Pope because he is the leader of the church, chosen by divinely-inspired cardinals.
The bible also states that gay people may not serve in the church as they are living in a life of sin and may not join the church leadership until they have fully repented.
How do we know they weren't?
What about sitting in a room makes them divinely inspired? Does that mean that all of america is divinely inspired because we vote for our leader?
It states that men who lie with other men may not serve in the church. If you're homosexual, and not commiting homesexual acts, than there's nothing wrong with being in the church if you follow the doctrine.
With no force to upset the natural order, the natural order continues on the same. It's a basic semantics argument, nevermind the witchhunt the Pope put out against Luther for daring to criticize his corrupt business. Luther had to go into hiding, that's how enraged the Vatican was
How is this even vaguely related? No, it's because God inspires them to make the right decision.
How exactly can you back that up? Are you say ANY church leadership that votes is divinely guided?
if not why only these Cardinals?
*You've had too much of a think, time to accept the loving arms of a business, oh I meant to say church*
Church leaders, unless corrupted, are inspired by God to make the right decisions. This includes the Pope and cardinals.
How do we know they are not corrupted?
This not passive-aggresive enough for you?
I'm done.
The Catholic church is a very pedophilic background and covering it up AND as cardinals, covering it up rather than seeing justice done is very corrupt and THEY are technically the ones in places that could make those calls.
That is incredibly vague, like unbelievably vague of a standard. I can easily claim I am "inspired by God" to justify what I want to do. We know from the sinful nature of humans that power corrupts, so it's no stretch to be skeptical of those in authority. Need I remind anyone about the Stamford Prison Experiment?
"Do not withhold justice from anyone if it is in your power."
Bible verse there for you.
Uh huh, justice withheld is an injustice committed
And you cannot argue that the Catholic church does not have a long reputation of "alter boy" affairs. It was only recently they enacted the new rule to shuffle people in these affairs around "For their protection."
It's absolutely despicable they still protect them. At this stage they might be as corrupt as they were at the Reformation time period, it's that far gone
Easy Abby, your getting a tad excited before they can even answer the question.
There is no slow mode on me, it's all full speed ahead
We should not ever be afraid to call out corrupt authorities, especially when they are supposed to be spiritually guiding us
ah well. They are done. As are most people when they have to justify the actions of the Catholic management.
Defending a sick, decaying, and dying order
That's Catholics unfortuantely
a bit dramatic.
But each person chooses who they follow and they defend who they follow.
Dramatic? I certainly am not afraid to make bold dictations in favor of my beliefs
I think I'ma light another candle next week
I kinda like the candles
I mean, you can get candles yourself < < nobody stopping you from lighting your own candles if you like them.
Yeah but the basilica is beautiful
It's also the oldest one in Mississippi
Did you get baptized? If so read 1 corinthians 11:17-34.
