We all have our crosses to bear
Go to God in your heart and tell Him you don't want to be like that, that you want help to get over it. Don't hide behind these strange thoughts as though you were born that way. He won't be able to help if you keep dodging the help He gives.
You are so loved
I have to go, but may God Bless everyone here. +JMJ+
Well I want a boyfriend. I want love, I just don’t like that god is making that goal unreachable. Why does he have to cause this suffering to me. I honestly hate myself for a long time it’s just I don’t think I can stop myself from being gay. I can’t go back to being straight. I know it’s mostly impossible. We should I follow rules that just make me personally suffer. Doesn’t he want to make me happy.
Your sexuality is a part of you but You are MORE than your sexuality.
I know but I can’t change it
God does not promise ANY of us happiness in this life. Only in the next
Doing the right thing always hurts. It feels good to mow down the person who killed your mother in a spray of bullets rather than forgiving them and letting the government and cops punish them.
You will find there is a lot in life that you can’t change. Have you ever prayed the serenity prayer?
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Amen
If making hard choices to do the right thing is not something you can do, then being a christian is not for you. Paul had to go to prison even though he was innocent because people wanted him dead. Jesus... well Jesus, nuf said. The people in the early church reformation standing against the corruption of the Catholic Churchs political control were burned alive, one of the most inhumane deaths. People in china are killed for even going to christian get togethers.
Life isnt about being happy.
The problem is I don’t know if being gay or not will make my life better or worse. The only guide I have is the Bible
Hedonism is.
Christianity is about filling your life with purpose and helping others until your finally released from this cruel world in your prison of flesh.
I don’t know.
You have agenda and I should decide for myself.
Being gay will not make your life better, it will only fill it with being gay. There will be some good gay times and bad gay times later. Likewise with God. There is no magic choice that makes your life free of pain and full of happyness.
That’s why it is good to be catholic. We have a book called the “catechism” which explains the truths of our faith and the Bible.
I dont think being catholic makes you better (if anything it makes you more compliant to the scandals) but I can say that God, (not the pope) can make your life filled with less suffering and emptyness than without him.
And there is no one denomination that will perfectly fit you either. What will perfectly fit you is a good church.
Not trying to start a fight with my dear Protestant brothers and sisters, just trying to say there are other resources for how to be a Christian than the Bible out there.
There are many prayers
Some people love being Lutheran, some prodestant, baptist, non denominational or even catholic.
again, YOU choose what best works for you.
Yes the media love to attack the Catholic Church in particular
For justified reasons.
Yes it is terrible
There are many good Catholics though. There are also good Protestants
It must be what Christ felt when he knew Judas would betray him
Yes, there are good ones to every side.
Like the old adage "Not all women are whores, but all whores are women."
Jokes aside
You are at a crossroads Bluepill.
and you are going to have to come to grips with the fact that what you want and what God wants are different. And your going to have to make a choice one way or the other. You cant sit on the fence on some issues.
That’s not quite a perfect analogy. Because there is a lot of abuse in other denominations as well. It just doesn’t get the same publicity.
As the bible says, you cannot server two people at once, you will always pick one first and then the other.
It also isnt usually covered up by the pastors/leadership of those churches in the same way the catholic church falls in line with whatever the pope says even if he is the one covering.
Not whatever the pope says. The pope has his own opinions. When he speaks infallibly, it is only in a very particular circumstance. And the reason is it more systemic is because the Catholic Church is a bigger “system”. Abuse in smaller autonomous churches are covered up by other means. Like for example not wanting to lose parishioners or other reasons.
