Would anyone here be able to help with university level math? Specifically linear programming?

2021-01-16 06:35:41 UTC

yikes, sorry friend. i only know linear algebra for now.

others may know tho 👀 we've a few university students here

2021-01-16 07:12:55 UTC

Post the question I can probably help but no guarantee @mlleoie

2021-01-16 07:18:13 UTC

Thank you! Currently no questions, I was just wondering if this would be a good place to ask since I will probably have questions in the near future.

2021-01-16 07:24:18 UTC

There’s a quiz coming up on duality, would you happen to be familiar with the topic? If so, if I do have questions and the prof doesn’t respond, perhaps I can try asking you? 😅

2021-01-16 10:53:18 UTC

Oh yeah not familiar the topic @mlleoie sorry

Precalc student in highschool here

2021-01-16 13:01:04 UTC

My physics class is a repeat for geomertry

2021-01-16 13:10:57 UTC

Man physics is really easy if they taught it with calculus than algebra

2021-01-16 13:11:26 UTC

Alot of concept made more sense to me at least with calc than algebra

2021-01-16 13:21:49 UTC

yea. if they taught calc & vector (or have that as pre-requisite) to physics, it would help a lot of kids out

2021-01-16 13:31:36 UTC

Yeah

2021-01-16 14:35:55 UTC

I am doing precal and gr 11 physics at the same time lol

2021-01-16 14:36:11 UTC

granted all we need to know is trig and algebra and that's it but

2021-01-16 14:39:04 UTC

we only have functions in gr 11 for my school board

2021-01-16 14:39:54 UTC

wdym functions

2021-01-16 14:40:01 UTC

like I know the formulas but that's it

2021-01-16 14:40:11 UTC

I'd imagine calc being really helpful in the waves unit

2021-01-16 14:41:55 UTC

it's just math for grade 11. we've functions for grade 11, then advance function and calc & vector for grade 12

2021-01-16 14:42:09 UTC

calc is helpful for all units 😂

2021-01-16 14:42:20 UTC

oh god grade 12 sounds rough

2021-01-16 14:49:09 UTC

It is and isn't. At least for me

2021-01-16 14:49:34 UTC

I wasn't the best at time management. Usually I'm on a time crunch to finish up hw on time

2021-01-16 14:50:18 UTC

But i have a very good year in term of being social and running a club

2021-01-16 18:28:48 UTC

So if -4/6 be placed closer to the 5 or sum

2021-01-16 18:28:58 UTC

Fractions I forgot how to do them

2021-01-16 18:31:46 UTC

simplified the fraction down. -4/6 = -2/3. -2/3 would be closer to -1 than 0 (-1 can be rewrite as -3/3)

2021-01-16 18:32:05 UTC

Wait we have to simplify

2021-01-16 18:32:11 UTC

It doesn’t say that in the instructions

2021-01-16 18:32:31 UTC

Damnit I hate math

2021-01-16 18:33:33 UTC

you should simplified it down to the most simple form, otherwise you're working with big numbers. it should be a habit, when it comes to dealing with fractions

2021-01-16 18:34:20 UTC

K

2021-01-16 19:57:45 UTC

We're not doing an calc stuff

2021-01-16 19:57:51 UTC

Vectors and newton stuff

2021-01-16 19:58:07 UTC

Non simplfiyed fraction? CRINGE

2021-01-16 20:40:15 UTC

Actually the AP Calculus test doesn’t care if you simplify stuff and our teacher wants us not to simplify answers

2021-01-16 21:05:31 UTC

simplying answers is really easy to make an error

2021-01-16 21:06:12 UTC

True

2021-01-16 21:06:21 UTC

No ap maths for me

2021-01-16 21:06:52 UTC

I wonder how much I would lose marks on minor things if I was in ap
