I agree, hence usually the US has been appealing, but it seems on a downward trajectory towards socialist big govt chaos now so my preferences are shifting. At least here even though that side is strong, the resistance to it is also strong, whereas it's demonised to hell in the US as blanket white supremacy and protecting privelege

Dude we've been in lockdown since March of 2020! Our (equivalent) 5th amendment rights got nuked, as a uni student I can tell you the war on everything normal is very much still on!
I'd take living in the US any day of the week. The 2nd amendment is the apex of everything that matters. There is no good reason to live in the UK anymore, the country is totally fucked.
